Nah I know. Nobody leaning towards voting that way ever does, even when it's questioned out of genuine interest.
I'm genuinely interested, since it basically means people are looking at the States and thinking yep, that's going terrifically, I'm well up for making my life similarly markedly worse, more expensive and more dangerous in every conceivable way if it just means I don't have to read about so many minorities (I don't actually cross paths with) in the paper. And who better to deliver that outcome than the person who completely misled me as to what Brexit would do for me.
And I'd be genuinely interested to know what I'm overlooking, if an intention to vote that way wasn't driven by racism or gullible naivety. But it seems there definitely is such a rational explanation, it's just that they just don't feel like telling anyone what it is.

The problem with posts like this is it gives the Reform voters - of whom there are several at least in our ranks - something to dispute. And with some justification as I'd be surprised if every single Reform voter is a grifter or a racist, but certainly they are comfortable cozying up to grifters and racists which isn't much better but is an important distinction.
And what that then allows is for those Reform voters to derail the thread and turn it away from one of their ilk being caught with sexual images of kids on his computer, which is what the thread was originally about. If Reform voters were asked to engage with things like the OP on a more sustained basis instead of being given an easy escape ramp then perhaps they might actually start to question whether they want to be associated with these kinds of people. If he'd appeared out of nowhere promising them that, then maybe you could forgive a bit of naive blind faith - but this same man agitated for Brexit, then takes no responsibility whatsoever for its complete failure to do what he said it would do in any fashion whatsoever, simply meets any resultant criticism by claiming it's in the past and people should get over it, and has demonstrably lied and failed to do the job he's elected to do ever since.
I'm undeniably fortunate enough not to be in a situation whereby rolling the dice and putting my faith in a proven liar to improve my status quo would be worth the gamble, but I'd love to understand more about those who are, and how they're able to dismiss the concerns of issues such as paying for their healthcare when it's something their Dear Leader has actually said.

I don't really want to be seen as a potential apologist for Reform. But I do have a lot of family and friends who are planning to/talking about voting Reform. The majority of them are not overtly racist.
I think part of yer second paragraph is very important. Many of these people are in a situation where they see rolling the dice as worth the gamble unfortunately.
Many of these people voting for Reform also voted for Brexit. I remember talking to one of um days before the Brexit vote and explaining why I thought it would be a disaster.
