He's starting to play some lovely, delicate little lay offs bringing other people into play. His movement off the ball has improved a lot too. I can really see the path of improvement since the start of the season, and I think he will develop into an excellent player.

Once he nails the finishing, the Wrexham goal was great btw, he'll become a real asset.

If we keep him.

I think he's just 10x sharper from a match fitness perspective. Looked a stone overweight at the start of the season. Looks leaner and meaner and half a yard quicker to me.

Indeed! It's great to see him spending more time on his feet than his arse too. He's looking much stronger, and up for the physical challenge in the last month or so.

I've always liked him, because he is a 100% effort player. He's got great vision and football intelligence, a nice touch, unselfish...

...and has just enough of the shthouse about him to wind up the opposition!

He's a very intelligent and situationally aware striker too. Plays off a defender really well. I think he's just gonna get better and better the rest of the season. He looks at home now, where for a while he seemed to be a little unsure how exactly to play for us.

Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!

He’s similar to the Hirst we’ve seen over the last few years. If he can find some form it would be helpful to have both

Agreed that he has noticeably approved, and to the point where he is genuinely becoming an influence on games. Good for him, hard not to root for the guy!

I hope Kieran will stick with him now for a good run of games.
No rotating for Hirst for saturday.
Take him off at 75 or 80 minutes and he'll be fine for saturday.

His overall play tonight has been strong, which makes it all the more frustrating when he has a great chance to score and the finish is woeful.

His movement is impeccable.

Like I said, if he could nail the finishing.

He needs more confidence in himself. Take a touch there and he has the option to bury it in the bottom left, or play in Wes to the right.

He'll get there.

Hirst still managed to better it though. He will be pleased with a goal but will walk away feeling he should of had at least 2. Azon meanwhile no goal tonight but a very good performance. Both will be boosted by that

He's definitely improving.

However lets not get ahead of ourselves. Some of his shooting is woeful!

That one in the first half, I'm not saying he should score but he's leaning right back...thats why it went so high...!

Our finishing generally is staggeringly awful, so many off target that shouldn't be off target.

However, they're having a go which is good and if we could somehow sharpen it up or Hirst gets his mojo back then that may make the difference in some of those really tight games.

Defence back to their usual tighter self tonight too.
