Anyone got any albums they listen to that just seem to get better with the years?
For me it's The Black Album by The Damned.
When I brought it back home 46 years ago I was a touch disappointed with it, being a big departure from the sound of their first their first three albums. I stuck with it and came to enjoy it. Listening to it now that it just seems to be a magnificent work. Even Curtain Call which took up all of side 3 and which I tended to skip over, I really enjoy now. Those organ sounds give it real atmosphere.
Mind you I still skip the live side.
Anyone got any similar albums that seem so much better today than on release?
Mother Love Bone - Apple/Mother Love Bone Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog Pearl Jam - Ten Alice in Chains - Dirt Levellers - Levelling the Land Skid Row - Slave to the Grind

Jeff Buckley - Grace. John Martyn - Solid Air. Joni Mitchell - Blue. Anything by Talking Heads. Boards of Canada - Music has the Right to Children.
Daft Punk too. It's their ability to create music that sounds like it's for robots but celebrates the joy of being human. So much more relevant in the AI world we're living in.

New World Record would figure high on my list too, but for me Bridge over Troubled Water always wins.

This is the first Nick Drake track I heard, on a sampler called 'Bumpers', and his influence on me grows as the years pass. He is more highly rated now than when he lived but still very underrated as a singer, songwriter and guitarist.

Time Has Told Me was my first Nick Drake song, heard on the Island sampler Nice Enough to Eat. Bought a few albums off the back of that sampler including Five Leaves Left; job done as far as the Island marketing team were concerned.
Wasn't one of Nick Drake's complaints along the lines of "Everyboby loves my music but nobody buys my records"?
Any album by Van Morrison. If you're a believer you'll understand. His albums have the remarkable ability to sound as fresh and exciting as they did when you first 'got into them'. I call his music food for the soul.
Another shout out for Bryter Layter too.

Rumous by Fleetwood Mac. Got a record player for xmas so going back and seeking out all the old almbus that I had on cd (and stupidly sold so I could buy an Ipod i barely used) as well as some of those my parents owned.
Rumors is just superb from 1st to last and stands up against anything today.
Tapestry by Joni Mitchell similar.
Stoosh by Skunk Anansie still kicks more ass than most rock records today.

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue Gang Of Four - Entertainment! Marvin Gaye - What's Going On?
Whats going on is an absolute tour de force of an album. From the beginning (whats going on) to the end, and one of my all time favourite tunes ( inner city blues).
It really does feel that it justs get better and better with time

At the risk of being whooshed Tapestry was Carole King, no? Even though Joni Mitchell sang on some tracks.

Thanks for the affirmation on 'Bryter Layter' and now I feel churlish for questioning any album by Van Morrison. 'Astral Weeks', 'Veedon Fleece', 'Moondance', 'St Dominic's Preview' and 'It's Too Late To Stop Now' are, of course, astonishing but 'Back On Top', for example, a little less so...for me.

Agree and would add Inarticulate Speech of the Heart and Beautiful Vision too.

Just thought of this one. I was absolutely obsessed with this album when it came out. Played it to death.
Also Dusk in 1993
The The played a big part in my 80s musical tastes as a change from the heavy metal I was usually into. Preferred Soul Mining to Infected but both are great. Glad Matt Johnson's alter- ego got a mention on here. His solo lp Burning Blue Soul was good as well, very experimental at the time.
