Texas Hash.

Minced beef, peppers, rice, tomatoes, chilli powder and whatever else Mrs C bungs in.

Maybe a strawberry yoghurt for dessert all washed down with a couple of glasses of white wine.

Food of the gods.

So what do you mangle on a Friday night?

Tonight we had roasted cauliflower with chickpea and peanut curry. Desert was some Danish pastries my Mrs bought from the delicatessen next door to her Uni.

She's teetotal so I have a whole bottle of Prosecco all to myself, and we are going to watch the Peaky Blinders movie on Netflix.

Home made Thai red curry (chicken). Lovely stuff and I may well have a can of cider as well.

Upvote for making the curry from scratch. Downvote for the chicken

Asparagus, sweet potato (baked, sliced, then fried in butter until crunchy edged with gooey centre) and home-pickled salmon.

Pint of home-brewed beer.

Home made ginger cake for pudding.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I had prety much the same, but how could you drink a girly white wine with it. It cries out for a robust red. I had Primitivo

Mrs Cs health issues means red wine is off the menu. I do have it on my own sometimes, as I actually prefer red (marginally), but it’s usually easier and more sociable to have what she’s having.

White is ok. Not keen on Rose though.

Can't beat a homemade curry from scratch, I do the same with Indian curries. Takes a while though, and I've become a bit lazy since I discovered a company called East at Home who make really good restaurant style pouches of sauce. Their Madras is really good, and I tried the Pathia tonight which was also great.

Still make my own onion bhajis though using the recipe of a fella from Leeds who calls himself the Yorkshire Indian. His recipe videos are quite funny as he's a bit sweary and refers to viewers as "you spicy bastards"

Fish and chips...is the correct answer. But we had a twist in that the Co-op's finest breaded pollock was saved by potato wedges made from Cara spuds from the garden and a side of mussels collected from the lochside and cooked to perfection by my son. Only just woken up after sleeping that off !

Friday night.

I made Jacket potatoes,I dig the pot out when it’s done then mash it with cheese and onion, pop it back in t’oven and brown it.

I then fry some black pudding and the lady has chicken,a tin of plum tomatoes 🍅 slopped all over it.

It’s a bit like me,very tasty but simple

Yesterday was breaded chicken steaks with curry sauce and rice, it's a terrible version of a katsu curry but my friends fussy little sh*ts eat it.

Lots of hockey in our household today so I'm now putting together an oxtail stew in the slow cooker, too early for a swig of the red wine I'm using?

I did a nice simple but healthy one - salmon steaks baked en papillote, with lemon, butter and herbs de provence, with steamed veg (mangtout, green beans, asparagus, carrot) and buttered mash.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
