Actually, 72% think he should be sacked or resign - only 24% think he should stay -

This isn't correct, you know full well that this sample does not include the "silent majority" and that because it's an online poll it over represents the "keyboard warriors".

I work in a university, and in all our data research we are instructed to add on around 40% for the Silent Majority.

yes, quite, thank god that's all over. let's never speak of it again.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

....you'd get a very different result if you posted the same question on a different platform.

You know that.

even oh here it's 72% of 123 people. 72% equals 87 people. just enough to hold the bedsheet taught.

It would probably be pretty much 50/50, like the Brexit vote, with probably mostly same people in each camp.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

....that you don't like, I'd say it's more like 75% saying "Get over it" (or words to that effect), particularly in response to independent commentators/accounts.

I know that platform attracts a certain sort, but that merely proves my point that the reaction is largely dependant on the audience.

"I work in a university, and in all our data research we are instructed to add on around 40%" - BS. Maybe not that your Uni uses duff figures, but there's no respected research showing this. Happy to be proven wrong if you provide a citation. "Data research" drawn in crayon doesn't count.

If somebody had lied to you, would you accept an apology which in no way, shape or form acknowledged that the person had in fact lied to you? Would you allow them to spin their own account of ‘mistruths’ without actually telling you what those mistruths are?

If your answer to both of those questions is “yes, now let me keep licking that boot as though nothing happened”, then I wonder how you are able to make it through life without being mugged off at every single turn.

Get away out of that

What other place that “I don’t like”.

I still use X fairly regularly btw, but take zero notice of bot accounts and their threads - I find sticking to account-holders I know to be human pays off. Pretty sure those who voted here aren’t bots.

The satirist's satire detector needs tuning:
Controversial thread designed to attract attention by grow_our_own 27 Mar 17:11
Again, I know the majority agrees with me that Mark Ashton likes geese so any other considerations should be secondary. Studies have shown, and I dedicated a chapter to this in my thesis, that the silent majority are capable of transcendental telepathy. If you've not come across transcendental telepathy before, it's like regular telepathy, but hidden from those who aren't silent. A bit like the dark web. You have to be a member of the silent majority in order to access TT, otherwise the access protocol fails.

Are some other great detection fails in above thread. Problem is, Ashton's circus in the last week is so painfully risible, it's almost indistinguishable from satire.
