Talk about wetting the bed! A real supporter has blue blood running through them and if you have supported the Town like me for 50 years I find it hard to believe how anyone can give up your support. It’s not the club at fault. The players and manager still deserve your support man, grow up for Christ sake.

Ethical dilemmas aren't an issue for those that lack ethics.

If you’re quoting years I’ve got 60! And for me this as bad as anything I can remember in that time. So fck off with your self righteous ‘real supporter’ rubbish - of course it’s the club at fault and they’ve done nothing to really rectify it. Oh and btw I’ll be doing the usual 8 hour round trip for a home game on Easter Monday to support the team. Hope to fck I’m not sat next to you.

Ooh so it's your blue blood that makes you so 'special' and willing to have it thrown under the bus by a poundland David Bren,t how loyal! Just who's fault is it in your eyes then?

He's not a David Brent though is he? David Brent was useless at his job.

Have a quick reflection of where we were 4-5 years ago. Once you've done that, now have a look at the current situation at the club.

SOME fans, not THE fans.

Massive difference.

I appreciate that its impossible for many of the main antagonists on the board to understand that other people might think differently to them, but I'm afraid its true.

Well said.

A section of our fans, the sort who say "keep politics out of football" when they see players taking the knee, think it's all a "storm in a teacup"

They are entitled to their views, views I don't agree with.

Others are simply disliking of change or of conflict, which I understand in part. To them I just say sometimes you need to crack some eggs to make an Omelette. If you are believing Ashton is divisive and has caused damage to our club, how can you want him to stay in place?

People get there in their own time but the feelings of many are crystal clear. He has shown himself to be both incompetent and lacking integrity and honesty. For many that is enough to want rid.

I understand why people are saying that what has happened is more important than promotion this season. However, what concerns me is that taking this stance will almost certainly affect our chances of going up this year (though I’m not saying it’s the wrong stance to take).

Many of our best players have come from different countries, and it’s hard to imagine how they must be feeling right now, or how this situation might affect their motivation to help the club achieve promotion.

That raises the question: is sacking Ashton the only way to save our season? It would certainly be the strongest statement the club could make, and it may also be the only way to retain the manager for next season.

Question

Weve had new training ground. Updates to stadium. 140 odd cameras installed. New boardrooms. Press rooms etc.

Did mark work 24 hours a day doing all of these tasks himself or did he have a host of project managers running these tasks..

A bit of respect needed imo for those that put their hours into managing the projects not just the guy that talks about them in his interviews.

Just because you may have missed my earlier response to you:

If we fail to go up... by TheMoralMajority 28 Mar 23:04
You see, this is where you and I differ. I cannot see how you can, in any way, blame the fans for this. The fans would not be going through this if it were not for the actions of one man, and one man only.

I have said before. The players and managers will receive my 100% support. My issue is purely with the leadership, and it has only been over the last 3 days.

For me a line has been crossed, but that in no way impacts my desire to help the team in anyway I can.

I think this is where you and I fundamentally differ. You are happy to excuse something that I find fundamentally inexcusable. However we both, ultimately, want the same thing. The best for this team.

Ashton out

I don't think anyone can question Ashtons work ethic

No one has. But I've seen some posts which seems to credit him directly with everything thats happened at the club without any thought of those who have actually overseen the projects being done.

Not one where people comment like he ceo literally does everything himself no.

Hes a solid ceo. I cant say solid chairman as I dont think hes very good at that aspect.

But i do think alot of the good work done is because of a host of different project managers.

And before someone comes back with who do they report to you. Indeed ashton. However there were times he wasn't around. So well done to all the project managers involved over the last few years.

He gets the A for Accountability when things go wrong or he screws up and credit for when things go right. If course he’s not done much of the work. It’s not his job.

Getting the right people in place to do what’s required, structure, organisation, holding subordinates to account, praise and reward etc is his job.

That means if for example the new training facility is finished to time, on budget and fulfils what’s required, while he may have not wielded the trowel, he is accountable and gets the credit and hopefully his subordinates and the people on site rewarded, praised, promoted etc accordingly.

Whether he’s that kind of manager/CEO, I’ve no idea. I’ve met enough a-holes that have stolen others ideas, nabbed all the credit, talked a good game and all that jazz to know that’s not always the case.

This might sound a bit like praising a pilot for a great take off and flight before ploughing the aeroplane into the runway on landing, but I’ll say it anyway. Ashton deserves a lot of credit for his contribution in improving the club beyond my wildest dreams over the past five years.

But I still hold to my earlier post in this thread in response to Phil’s.

Indeed and thats why I have to say hes a solid ceo. I just think when these credits are put out then its good to credit those deeply involved in those projects. Its kinda like when hes talks of promotions like its his successes. when we know how much KM has put into it.

I understand what you are saying and if he is in real life how he comes across (even before this week) I don’t think we’d have got along too well.

Anyway, more importantly I hope things are going as well as they can with you.
