100%, me too. I am not sure it was 500,000 - looking at the aerial photos and walking from back to front I think perhaps 200,000, but I know attendance is a bit of a game between organisers, police, media etc - and what really is important is visibility, solidarity, and expression, as you point out. That was in abundance, more than the Robinson march (and less angry) and in all its diversity and richness. It was exactly what I needed after what Farage & Fashton did to us.

Nope. 500k isn't the majority of the country's population. So clearly the silent majority are all for racism, the far-right and fascism. You are in your own bubble of those few decent people in the noisy minority, clearly. Tongue definitely in cheek, by the way, in case it needs pointing out to some.

| How are all the lefty snowflakes today? on 19:56 - Mar 29 with 668 views | BRIDGHAMBLUE | To be honest, this is exactly the problem with the whole discussion. Going on a march, whether it’s 50k, 200k or 500k,doesn’t automatically make you morally right, just like someone attending a football match doesn’t suddenly become an expert on how to run the club. It shows people care about something, which is fair enough, but it’s not a measure of who’s “right” or “wrong”. Likewise, branding anyone who doesn’t agree as racist, far-right or fascist just shuts down any proper conversation. It’s no different to calling people “snowflakes” the other way—both sides end up talking past each other. And in the context of a country of around 70 million people, even the higher estimates being thrown around are still a relatively small proportion. It’s not a “silent majority”, it’s just one group of people expressing a view, same as others do. The UK is one of the most diverse and tolerant countries in the world. That doesn’t mean everything is perfect, but it does mean we should be able to debate issues, like immigration, politics, or even a football club meeting a politician, without instantly assuming the worst about each other. At the end of the day, someone meeting Nigel Farage or attending a march doesn’t define them as good or bad. It’s just part of living in a country where people are allowed different opinions. | | | |

Marching doesn’t make you the “silent majority”, it just makes you part of a loud crowd for the day. In a country of ~70 million, even 200k–500k isn’t exactly representative. And calling everyone who disagrees with you racist, far-right or fascist isn’t helping anything, it just shuts down any real discussion. People can have concerns or different views without being labelled. That’s kind of the point of living in a democratic country.

Fair enough if people want to march, that’s their right, but visibility doesn’t equal being right, and it definitely doesn’t equal majority. Also, framing everything as “good vs far-right” is a massive oversimplification. Not everyone who disagrees with you is extreme, it just means they’ve got a different view. Debate would get a lot further if people dropped the labels and actually listened to each other.

OK. Noted. If 200,000 people were on an anti-fascist march it's totally your prerogative to think that they are wrong or that you do not agree with the aims of that march. I guess you could call yourself an anti-anti-fascist, unless there's a more simple word to use.

Debate is fine, but should we accept someone be allowed to be outwardly racist in the spirit of debate? [Post edited 29 Mar 20:25]

Yep, they should know the correct terminology is ‘far woke’ now. It so odd that woke is used as an insult, I take it as a compliment that I am awake to the social injustices of this world. As an aside, what is the opposite of woke? Ignorant?

Now I’m confused. I thought they’d moved on to the more foreign sounding wokerati? (Oh, the irony). I’m a bit out of touch though. Is ‘sheeple’ still a thing? What about libtards and snowflakes? Is it all down to Big Pharma, Globalists, WEF and The Jews? It’s so hard to keep up with their diligently investigated and independently verifiable attack lines, arf.
