| Latest from Farage 14:45 - Apr 1 with 2369 views | Freddy | Nigel Farage has blamed "hard left lunatics" for forcing Ipswich Town to make a humiliating apology for hosting him, describing his critics as "deeply intolerant". The Reform leader defended his controversial visit to Portman Road, which prompted criticism from many of the Suffolk club's fans, and said every Premier League and Championship club should want to meet him. He made his remarks during a trip to the Norfolk Showground on Tuesday night, where his party held a rally. He acknowledged his trip to Ipswich last week, during which he posted a video of him touring Portman Road, had "caused a stir in East Anglia". The clip saw him pose with Ipswich Town shirts with "Farage 10" on the back, visit the club's media room and stand on the pitch side. After days of criticism from fans saying the club should not have hosted the politician, chairman Mark Ashton released his own video in which he "unreservedly apologised". Mr Farage was unapologetic. These are hard left lunatics, they're deeply intolerant - it's all part of cancel culture," he said. He revealed he had travelled to Portman Road to discuss Reform's opposition to the government's independent football regulator, which was introduced last year to oversee clubs' financial conduct and test the suitability of owners. The watchdog has also revealed plans to devise a new code of governance, with clubs having to show what they are doing to tackle under-representation of minorities and increase their focus on equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Ibwent to Ipswich because Mark Ashton wanted to meet me to talk about football regulations," he said. Frankly, every Premier League club and Championship club should want to meet me and talk to me. They got bombarded with hate. "That's what the mob do - they frighten people. It shows you how nasty the country is. "I'm not going to pick a fight with Mark, I don't need to do that. "But he comes under pressure, they start getting abuse. This is how people react because they thought they had to." | | | | |

What people keep missing is that if Ashton had come out and said he met him to discuss views on the football regulator, and if he hadn't given him 6 free '10 Farage' shirts and free reign to use PR as a campaign backdrop, he wouldn't be in such deep sh1t. Its the gaslighting and lies that are the issues. And the hiding, plus non apology made it worse. [Post edited 1 Apr 14:52]

Getting mocked and spoken about like this by a fellow egomaniac he invited into the club hoping to be “fwends” with. Guy is being made a mockery of. Needs to go sooner rather than later. Buffoon.

Agreed. Ashton's ignorance and lack of foresight as to how this would play-out makes you think he consumes his current affairs within a narrow bubble. Farage is skilful manipulator of his base. If you're inside it, then you probably don't see that. [Post edited 1 Apr 14:58]

| Latest from Farage on 15:14 - Apr 1 with 1476 views | pointofblue | He knows full well the complaints gave nothing to do with a meeting to discuss the regulator (which is absolutely fair enough) and all to do with the way Reform promoted the visit on social media, which made it look like the club were supporting the party - emphasised by the subsequent revelations. He's gaslighting because he knows it will work. I'm disturbed he could well be the next, non-Labour, Prime Minister. | |

Mark mentioned on the KoA podcast the hundreds of messages, many a abusive and coming from non-town Reform activists. But nevermind that, just harmless banter, eh? I don't like the supposed lies from the club, but the divisiveness createdacross the club on every level is unforgivable. [Post edited 1 Apr 15:25]

What is it you like best about Moscow Nige? The bigotry, the grifting, the licking up to nonces, nazis and dictators or the time he convinced 52% of the country's turkeys to vote for Christmas?

| Latest from Farage on 15:31 - Apr 1 with 1353 views | Butterbing | I'm not a hard-left lunatic and yet I was angered by the endorsement of Reform. I'm not bothered one bit that Farage met Ashton, that is the sort of thing that goes on all the time. It ws the use of the 6 x Farage 10 Shirts which were giftes to him and the use of the club's image and branding for political propaganda which angered me. This is just straight out of Trump's playbook. Anybody who disagrees or critifcises is a loony lefty. Just so dumb and obviously incorrect. Not to mention that the division in this country is from both sides of any divide, that's how division works. You can't just blame the other side. Numpty. | | | |

Funnily enough, I can think and feel for myself, unlike a lot of the sheep on here. Farage just made the point (correctly) that it's the same old left leaning whining rabble who like to shout people down. That's their default reasoning, you don't agree with me so you must be dumb, racist, fascist (insert your own insult of the day).

Yep, you're bang on there, mate. That's exactly what's been going on here over the last few days. Absolute woke nonsense.

Yet you are calling people a "whining rabble" whilst Farage calls them a mob and lunatics. Why are you lumping everyone who disagrees with you together? There is significatly more nuance to any political position than the "them vs us" rhetoric you appear to have been sucked in by.

we've got a true believer here! it's not the left leaning rabble, it's left and right-leaning posters here, our sponsors, our players, the local press, the national press, the international press... that's a lot of people on one side, nigel and a handful of oddballs on the other!

Narrative, innit. I've seen plenty of contrasting views over the last few days. But why engage in critical thinking when you can just distill everything down to the racists and the far wokerati? Nuance no longer exists. There are only tribes and we WILL win this culture war.
