| Dead Leg 09:35 - Apr 8 with 2445 views | hype313 | Thought it was quite an innocuous injury, but looking at standard timeframes, it could be a 4-6 week healing process. Would be a huge loss if so. | |

According to google "2–3 weeks for mild cases, while moderate-to-severe injuries can last 4–8 weeks or longer".

| Dead Leg on 09:41 - Apr 8 with 2374 views | _CliveBaker_ | It really depends on the severity of the muscle damage. The benefit Matusiwa has is the nature of his role, he's not an explosive winger reliant on pace and straight line running. Ironic after treading the yellow card tight rope for so long he might miss a few games through injury. | | | |

I've been advocating a three man midfield for the Norwich game in the absence of Matusiwa. Drop the number 10 role and have the pace of Clarke and McAteer on either flank supporting a lone striker. I'd be interested in your view. [Post edited 8 Apr 10:05]

I agree with this but chances of KMac changing formation at this stage of the season are less than zero. For all his many many wonderful qualities, he is rigidly wedded to that 4231.

Yeah I don't think he's ever played a three man midfield. Not even in the Premier League where it was obvious we were being over run in that area.

Playing Nunez in the 10, is the closest we get to three central midfielders and why our record with him playing there is very good. If we start with Neil, Taylor and Nunez at 10, only leaves us Cajuste on bench if Azor doesn’t make it. I did wonder whether Azor was already carrying the injury before the game on Saturday, looked like his left leg had some strapping on it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We kinda only play with half a 10 if Nunez is in there anyway I think, so it would probably amount to a small tweaking of his role. I think if we were going to see an all-out system change from KM we'd probably have seen it before; with seven games left I think he'll keep it broadly the same with minor adjustments here & there.

That's a fair point. Nunez has made it a hybrid role. I would like to see Nunez actually play just behind Neil and Taylor/Cajuste, spraying the ball about the pitch rather than just in front of them.

You missed off ‘a few days for Azor because he’s invincible’

If its 3 weeks out for a dead leg I can only imagine it's at least 2 months out for a well administered wedgie

| Dead Leg on 18:44 - Apr 8 with 876 views | armchaircritic59 | As I put in a post on the site a day or two ago, what they call a dead leg today must be very different to what we knew as one when I was doing a not altogether convincing impersonation of a footballer back in the early 60's to early 70's! We just used to run them off, nearly always worked. Has to be something extremely different now, or someones having a laugh. If it is indeed something similar to what we knew, I'd be absolutely staggered if it took 4-6 weeks. Times have most certainly changed, as it appears have meanings. | | | |

I like that idea we struggle massively with Matusiwa. Whilst I obviously want a win, more importantly we mustn't lose Saturday to retain those bragging rights. We also need our full backs to defend with less reliance on attack. Not really seen them under the new guy but balls over the top created many attacks/chances for us last time and we struggled to play out from back or through the middle.
