How many of their players start for us? I don't think any. I genuinely think all 9 of our bench starts for them, and that's not an exaggeration.
Obviously we're the parachute bad boys and the recent Premier League spell should have left us with such a strong squad despite some departures and negative net spend last summer, but its remarkable how quickly we've overtaken them and by how much.
They've clearly made a good appointment in Clement and can probably look forward to next season with some optimism, especially in a league where you can finish 1/3 down the table and get a playoff spot. Its going to be tough to out pace Wolves, Burnley, 1 of Spurs, West Ham, Forest, Leeds, not to mention at least a couple of us, Southampton, Boro, Wrexham, Brum who will spend again. Fisher is a decent young talent and Makama, when back, will end up at a bigger club. But you're right, nobody we saw out there would get into our team and maybe not even the matchday squad. When you think back to the previous meetings in 23/24: Sargeant, Sara, Nunez, Sainz, Rowe... They've all been replaced by Temu quality replacements. They've regressed massively in the attack and midfield as the last of vestiges of their premier league campaigns have been wasted.
While I think this year has been far from plain sailing and we've struggled to adapt to teams seeking to stifle us at times, we are a stronger squad than that of 2 years ago.
We have an opportunity to get another £100m worth of improvements to build towards a hopefully long term stay in the Premier League. They meanwhile have not got any big money sales lined up to bail them out like usual. We should be growing that gap further every year. |  | | |

It was the inverse of so many derby matches from 2014 to 19, lots of endeavour from the home side but markedly more talented players being good enough to take chances and win comfortably.

We had them at arms length for the whole match really. On the balance of the quality of the chances, 2-0 actually flattered them as Azon should of had a third. That is with me disregarding the Hirst chance as he scored from the subsequent throw in.
Will be interesting to see how they end the season now as it could easily all peter out. And even if they do end it well, it doesn't necessarily follow that the momentum carries into next season.
