Listen so far Southampton have been under no real pressure. They’ve gone on a run which has now taken them into the play offs, somewhat unexpectedly. Experience tells that the minute you get close to the promised land that is that top 2, mentally it becomes more challenging. And one real slip and they’re probably goners. Ipswich are too often nearly but not quite.
10 points for guaranteed second spot will be fine and possibly nine. I'd like to think promotion at St Mary's but we've hardly managed two decent performances in a row this season so will have to settle for dominating Boro, a nervy win at West Brom and an unconvincing victory against Southampton.
