| Player of the Year vote 21:46 - Apr 20 with 1653 views | LeistonBlue | Just submitted my vote.. on a whim actually went with Walton. I think he’s shown far more consistency than any other player and took his opportunity tremendously after Palmer’s injury. Has been completely dependable and hardly put a foot wrong all season, alongside some frankly ridiculous saves. Who’s everyone else going for? | | | | |

Considered him, but he’s had the odd absolute stinker which Walton just hasn’t which made me go that way. Not a bad shout at all though

They need to change the actual question on the Academy Player of the Season page.

I downvoted due to the arrogance of the post, yes Azor has been amazing this season, but he’s not the only one. You silly little man.

Several weeks ago I think it would have been fair to say that Matusiwa stood out. I think there are several who could be considered as already mentioned in the thread and it will be a lot closer than it would have been several weeks ago. That is partly Matusiwa dropping off (probably too much put on him or a niggling injury that he is playing through) and partly due to the continued form of others like O'Shea. I also think the fact one individual doesn't stand out shows how we haven't relied on one player. Matusiwa stands out to a degree because the options behind him are not as strong as the options behind players in other positions.

| Player of the Year vote on 07:36 - Apr 21 with 857 views | Meadowlark | This thread is getting a bit like all the political threads on here. I get why people have strong political views but surely we can vote on our own choice of player of the year without being told we are wrong? They all play for Ipswich! | | | |

To be fair, the question was "who is everyone else going for?" There is only one response telling people that there is only one option and I don't read even that as telling people they have to vote for that option even though it does come across as arrogant and rude (especially in reply to points already made on other options).

| Player of the Year vote on 07:51 - Apr 21 with 823 views | franz_tyson | The season started in August. Not when Matusiwa got a dead leg. Matusiwas been clearly our best and most important player until the last few games. Dara's finishing strongly, but got to Matusiwa | | | |

As I have stated above, part of the reason he has been our most important player is the drop-off to the alternative options. We have very good quality in reserve in other positions. That said Matusiwa has had a very good season and will probably be POTS.

| Player of the Year vote on 08:04 - Apr 21 with 778 views | DJR | Dara is definitely in with a shout but it is perhaps rather damning that a defender would feature given where we are in the table. The same could be said of Walton. For what it is worth, I'd give it to Clarke. | | | |

We are partly where we are because of our defence.

| Player of the Year vote on 08:07 - Apr 21 with 764 views | Metal_Hacker | It's quite bizarre this is even in question . If the past few weeks hadn't panned out how they have for Azor it would be a no brainer. So for me regardless of the past few weeks and his drop in form , whether it be due to injury or not , he gets it 100%. The guy has been run ragged and is most definitely running on fumes | |

| Player of the Year vote on 08:23 - Apr 21 with 676 views | The_Flashing_Smile | A Matusiwa Smile When The Tigers came to Town to deep defend and spend a while wasting, erasing time, and mounting counters counts as guile. Then patience is your virtue, and it’s virtually your style. But it’s worth the wait for the grade-A great in a Matusiwa smile. If a brickwall’s standing tall, the sides slide wider than a mile, it needs a beacon that can weaken knees, and is longer than the Nile. Don’t be in denial, insist resitance missed is futile. They’ll kick lumps but you’ll come up trumps with a Matusiwa smile. When the pleasure turns to pressure you can measure on a dial, don’t cough, ‘specially if you’re touching cloth, or back off from the trial. He’s gravy, stronger than a navy (baby!) and his pearly whites beguile. But under the lights I know my rights are a Matusiwa smile. The world might burn, but when he turns and you turned up at the turnstile - he plugs the holes of life, though goals aren’t roles within his profile. But five-foot-great in socks, from outside the box, a driver’s pile! A win, a din, and a toothy grin makes it all worthwhile. | |
