Not a lot to say, really.
The security arrangements worked. The bloke didn't get anywhere near the President or other guests, stopped at the first checkpoint. Fortunately, nobody was killed (the shot secret serviceman was wearing body armour).
From the evidence, the would-be assassin was very unlikely to have succeeded, more likely some innocent journalists getting harmed in the crossfire.
It'd be more of a concern if Trump and associates were going on about how he was a Democrat activist thus proving they are a dangerous organisation (in the lead-up to the Mid-Terms). But they aren't saying anything of the sort.
Tho I was slightly tickled by Trump's musings that being President of the USA was one of the world's most dangerous professions. |  |

It's a big place, over 1,000 rooms. Where the bloke was staying was likely a considerable distance (both in floors and horizontally) from the ballroom. | |
