I sooooooo want to be excited, but I'm just a nervous ball of anxiety!

I'm usually quite positive about most things towen, but I'm sick to the stomach at the thought of this going down to the last day, with 2nd - 5th within a point. Sky will be creaming their pants, but I will feel worse than I do now! Surely, the team would be feeling the pressure then, too.

I'm similar.

You just have absolutely no idea what to expect from this team.

I didn't expect to beat Cov or Norwich Away, we came and did a professional job on two of the better teams in the league in a really high pressure environment.

I expected to beat Portsmouth and Oxford Away, we put in two of our worst performances of the season.

Which team will turn up tonight? I couldn't call it. Lets hope for the former.

Only thing I think could cause a bit of a problem is a pasting, moral wise.

I want to be excited, and I feel that the squad has finally started to grow on me, I feel like that connection is almost there, by god it's taken some time, but the Norwich game, 'how' they went about it, was a turning point from an emotional point of view.

We've certainly stumbled our way through a number of matches and I really want to be excited about the possibility of putting it all firmly in our hands tonight, but I said back at Christmas...

"it's going down to the last day" and i've maintained that even when 'Boro were clear.

Saints will be right up for giving themselves an outside chance and Millwall won't slip up again.

I don’t really see how it matters. Southampton could win 3-0 tonight, 9-0 on Saturday and if we win, we’re still up. (Emphasised the if).

Firstly we are not going to lose tonight.

Secondly if we do lose the number of goals we lose by is of no consequence, provided of course we then win on Saturday.

We have three chances of gaining promotion, tonight, Saturday or play offs.

Tonight would be ideal then we can have a proper, pre match, celebration on Saturday.

We're already deciding who's good enough to stay next season and who's getting kicked out because they're not good enough for the PL.

Whether we get promoted or not.... was so last week. Just assume we already are.

The only thing with that is that all the other teams in with a sniff of 2nd on Saturday will be feeling the same way.

I know what you mean. There is a scenario where we lose the next two badly and either S’ton or ‘Boro could go above us on goal difference. It would be quite a weird quirk of results needing Millwall to lose, Boro to draw, us to lose the next two by at least a 5 goal deficit and S’ton to win tonight and draw on the weekend (or something like that).

Theoretically possible, but highly unlikely.

I’m with the OP - most people seem to think we won’t be going up tonight and are only talking about promotion against QPR, but we could get it done tonight.

This is the Championship remember and we are ITFC never doing things the easy way, I can see a draw tonight then draws in Millwall, Boro and our game on final day with 2nd place changing hands into all 3 clubs at different points.
