You'd have thought what with his Championship record he will be top of most clubs list if they've got a vacancy.

The things that go against him is that he has a reputation for playing dull football. Also think that many ambitious clubs in the championship will also have one eye on the PL as well - and his record there isn’t great.

Burnley signed 11 players in the summer, for fees between £3.5m & £23m. 5 of them were signed from overseas clubs. However, after early momentum, they were out of their depth - a bit like us last season.
If we go up, we will have to do something similar & I have no idea if our recruitment team is up to the job.

75% of the league play boring football and 100% of the league dream of getting into or back into the PL.

I'm not sure his PL record will be a reason not to get him in the Championship.

Burnley' Chairman: "Scott, we're sacking you because you have been awful and won 4 games all season. Ok?"

Be OK could buy Burnley on his wages and get change.

He has a remarkable record in this league, I'm surprised they haven't waited for him to get them back up next season and then replace from a much bigger pool of higher profile managers.

He'd be a shrewd appointment for a team like Bristol City or Birmingham, clubs looking to take that next step with decent backing.

Equally, Burnley will be pretty formidable next season, it's shaping up to be the toughest looking Championship for years.

I agree with your first paragraph but I’d also say that most fans want to play entertaining football and also be on the PL.

Ever since I can remember the next Championship season will always be a lot tougher than the previous one. It may well happen occasionally like when Newcastle went down but on the main the standard remains the same.

He also speaks in riddles which if he replicates in the dressing room will disengage players when the tables turn - see also Liam Rosenior.

Even when Newcastle were down last time, we beat them convincingly at Portman Rd.

Of course he will get another job. However good or crap you are someone believes you will do better for them.
We are so lucky to have KM. I'm not saying he's perfect, but who is. He is still very young and would be the first to admit he doesn't know everything.
I recall MA saying something about our recruitment and the type of player we needed rather than what we had the last time we were in the Premier League.
I feel they will need to review the policy again as so many have been below what was expected of them, such as Szmodics, Akpom, Azon, Cajuste. Three out of four being forwards. A department where we have been sadly lacking, Clarke and Philogene exempt.

That was during Keane’s time. We beat them 3-1 at PR in 2017 under Mick.

You do know as bad as he’s been, he got 100 points in this league last year, and has more points per game than McKenna in the prem.

He’s measurably had fewer resources too. The last two seasons at least.

If he’s shockingly bad, how’s McKenna any better, we’ll be 16 points behind his total, assuming we win Saturday and go up, and it won’t be a legacy side like Leeds we finish behind, it’s a team we had a budget four times bigger than.

The lack of self awareness is mind blowing. You do know we won ONE home league game in a 38 game season? .., it’s like some of our fans can only process being in the EFL.

They beat us convincingly (0:4) last time they were down in Ipswich in 2024.
We beat them convincingly (3:1) last time they were down in the Championship in 2017.

Recruitment was clearly a failure in the summer of 2024. It will need to be substantially better if we are to have a chance of PL survival (if we go up). All 3 promoted clubs trawled overseas markets; 2 of them did OK, Burnley failed.
Still no real evidence to suggest that McKenna is a much better head coach than Scott Parker.
