Not an argument, but a little research would reveal, many users that defended 'Morsy's behaviour' or show, up-arrows for Morsy's behaviour and down-arrows against. And many stayed quiet. It happened for, at least, 3 years in a row and many progressives did exactly as I have already stated.

I've moved on from the Reform absolute nonsense he put us and the club through but he's got to rebuild a reputation from scratch with me. It's difficult to knock the success he has brought us so I think you have to separate the things. He has my thanks for the hard work and success but he's spoilt it.

It's fine if you don't agree and think that Ashton has handled the whole episode with integrity, but what is so wrong with other fans of the club you support being troubled by it?
I'm trying hard to get beyond it, but it has changed the way I think about Ashton and his acceptance of Reform, No, not even acceptance. The grandstanding of Reform and then being caught in a lie about it, then a non apology is troubling for many people. The episode saw an almost instant increase in new posters here, emboldened by the seemingly warm support of Farage. Where did they all come from and why had they waited to make supportive comments about Farage and Reform their first posts? Because Aston enabled that. In the same way he enabled the defacement of the northstand goal posts with far right stickers.
This had never happened before, but is now seen as acceptable behaviour.
You may well support that behaviour. That's your choice, but to dismiss the impact of the whole sorry episode as a storm in a tea cup is at best disingenuous, at worst plainly myopic. Ashton's actions have changed things around here. |  |
