Throwing some names out there 21:54 - May 6 with 3923 viewssurreyblue

Very little research done. Basically just looked over each Prem club's wiki page for this season. Would assume that most of these aren't realistic, but a man can dream.

GK: James Trafford

Def: Tosin Adarabioyo; James Justin; Nicola Savona

Mid: Lewis Cook; Will Hughes; Tim Iroegbunam; Tom Cairney; Wataru Endo; Ryan Yates

AM: Harvey Elliot; Ben Gannon-Doak

ST: William Osula

Harvey Elliott on loan would be a ridiculous signing. Think he would have much better options and is probably on way too much money.

Iroegbunam was rumoured in 2024. Although I think that was a random fan claiming he was booked into the Salthouse...

We covered half of Phillips wages, and he is on 150k at City.

Can’t see Elliott coming here though, could see him at Leeds/Palace.

I agree, I'd love Elliott here but think a mid table established PL club will get him

Seamus Coleman's contract expires this summer with Everton.
He would add some really good experience to the squad, and is still a quality right back.
Will Lankshear and Mikey Moore from Spurs.
Troy Parrott has got 30 goals for AZ this season.
Tyler Morton at Lyon.

Coleman’s 37. How many games would we get out of him realistically? Presumably good mates with Dara, though, so who knows?

Ol' Seamus has managed the meagre total of 20 Premier League games in the last 3 seasons combined. He's also said to be the glue that holds Everton together, captain, leader, the real setter of standards at the club. I would think he'll just retire and fade into a backroom role at the club. He certainly isn't coming here!

Looking at our reported accounts, our average wage in the PL last time round was £55k per player - and that included people like Slicker so some would have been on way more

Only thing is, off the back of a bombed out loan at Villa I do wonder whether he might look at the Mckenna effect (ala Delap, Hutchinson) and see it as an opportunity to get his career back on track.

Yeah, madness in raw figures, but a quick Google says the average premier league player is now on £60k-£65k a week. All madness of course but puts wage demands like the above in context.

Wild isn't it, but then relative to revenues it was 50% vs. 119% in the season prior.

I heard we were paying 'the majority' of Phillips' reported £150k p/w, and Ashley Young was on £45k p/w this season which was double what Watford could offer him.

Yep, and our wage bill was >£20m less than anyone else in the league, and Leeds and Burnley were in the Champ last season

With likely two established Premier League teams going down would there be business to be done with those clubs? Wolves have a lot of quality...

When you watch them play, they don't look like they have a lot of quality.

In seriousness if three established teams go down, half the Premier League will be contesting for their players.

I'd love a few more players with Premier League experience, but we're probably better off looking overseas in terms of value and pulling power. Giving players the opportunity to play in the best league in the world is probably quite a sell, albeit comes with some risks. Getting players out of Premier League clubs is going to be more difficult.

I wonder if we'll go for Zian Flemming? Had a very good season for Burnley and in a position we'll almost certainly be looking to strengthen. Still annoyed we didn't sign him from Millwall last time we went up tbh, £7m was a snip and he had been class for them.

Lewis Cook is a great shout. We were semi-interested last summer.

Radek Vitek would be my tip for the GK position. Stunning season at Brizzle. Huge potential and similar frame to Muric (but less of a 'maverick').

Raul Jimenez on a 1-year deal as understudy to our top striker would also be a great deal IMO.

We had a bid rejected for Flemming on January's deadline day.

Although got ability we need 3 or 4 six foot two monsters or we won't compete that's the reality.

Interesting.

Given Burnley are now down and we're up, you would think it might be more of a goer now.

Could be shades of O'Shea about that one. Burnley pay £7m, get relegated, then sell him to us for twice as much? That one worked out OK.

I'd take him as the second choice, but I don't think he's enough stardust to be our #9.
