| And today, Zack will be……. on 09:19 - May 11 by GlasgowBlue | Farage’s racism has been exposed numerous times by the media and continues to do so. He has been challenged on multiple occasions about the £5 million. Just this weekend Sky challenged. As did the beeb. So your point is utter nonsense. As for Zack, he’s being exposed AS A Walter Mitty (or is that Walter Titty) chancer. What do you object to about this being discussed? He’s a fantasist. Spokesman for the Red Cross? 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 Worked at the MoJ? 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 Member of Council of Hypnotherapy? 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 Spokesman for Make Votes Matter? 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 He used all of the above during his bid to become deputy leader/ leader of the greens. |
Any comment on proportionality? Or not?

| And today, Zack will be……. on 11:06 - May 11 by Smoresy | Making arrangements to pay council tax on a "property" that isn't permissible to be used as such* would be a bold move and one unlikely to end well, I'd speculate. Not something I'm overly exercised about, alternative lifestyles like this, lived out on the margins of society and the law, providing they don't harm others and providing take-up remains very modest (if we all opted to clandestinely live on these boats then that would be a worry!). It's another layer to the man's origin story though, however one feels about the degree of misdemeanour. *"Note that the legality of the occupation is not a factor. This was a “leisure mooring”, and so the fact Mr Polanski resided there may have been a breach of his contract with the marina, and/or a breach of planning control. But if there is residential use then council tax applies, regardless of whether that use was lawful." |
"reasonable onlooker would conclude the narrowboat was their home. If that is correct, then Mr Polanski and/or his partner should have registered for and paid council tax." [Post edited 11 May 11:17]

Polanski must be a threat if Glassers is leading the smear campaign. Expect to see more posts like this now that Corbyn is successfully irrelevant.

| And today, Zack will be……. on 09:28 - May 11 by BanksterDebtSlave | Are there some policy implications here? |
This for me is the bigger problem. They need to decide what their policies actually are. They are still in that insurgent space where their policies are whatever you want them to be. They throw so much out there that people can hear what they want to hear and that is enough to garner votes from the 'I'm not voting for any of the other lot' crowd. At some point they are going to need to rationalise policy into something coherent and at that point it all gets real.

The even bigger concern is that seemingly for many of their voters, it doesn't even matter if their policies are wafer thin and unworkable. It doesn't matter if the representatives they vote for are racist, or corrupt, or don't want to do the job they've been elected for. How can you argue rationally with a group of people who are acting irrationally?

If posters care so much about honesty and integrity they should at least be consistent in their condemnation. Keir Starmer - becomes ‘free gear Starmer’ and receives some criticism. Hate Preacher Farage pockets £5M from a crypto-currency mate and then makes a speech in favour of his cypto-currency organisation - not a peep. Zack Polanski - has been found to have been less than honest about his past and it’s the worst thing ever. The leader of the Tories who has been less than truthful about her past (especially during her leadership bid) again, not a peep. Strange world.

"about as tame as they come...pretty powder puff" - good ones. I'll stop paying council tax and try these lines to my council / HMRC. I'm sure it'll go fine. [Post edited 11 May 12:01]

Jeepers… A democratic people get the government they deserve. — Alexis de Tocqueville If people are arguing about the size of the blemish, corruption, lying, racism, as though that was important, what you will get is a democracy run by corrupt, lying, racists…… and well, we already had that. As much as people take Benters to task about denying facts, in his choice of politician, all citizens should take that responsibility seriously.

Glassers wants the right to win, because that keeps him in his cosy life, so he'll forgive them most things and continue to smear the left for lesser things. It's self preservation and screw everyone else/the planet etc.

You’re right. I never condemned Boris Johnson and his sleazy government corruption. i never quit the Tory party over May’s shabby deal with the DUP. I have never called Farage an antisemitic racist grifter. Nope never done any of that

I don't know about Glassers, but that's certainly the motivation of a significant chunk of society - favoured, promoted and protected by the established system - and it's short-term, stupid and self-defeating. And that's all so blindingly obvious. We truly are a complex lemming-like species.

My comments were just a general observation which you are included in but not exclusively to. The fact that you started the thread is inconsequential as others become part of it. I think we all know that you might well have blocked Dolly but you log-out to read any posts that might well have been directed at you - your ego dictates that you will want to know.
