No skin in the game, but isn’t this him on #2 as well?

| I never knew there was a competition to design a mural outside the ground on 22:11 - May 14 with 927 views | rkc123 | I personally don't like it when big organisations run a competition for something like this, if the club want a big mural doing then find an artist and pay them properly to design it. I suppose it gives small local artists the chance to get some exposure for their work, and I assume the club will pay the winning artist, but it is the sort of thing that only seems acceptable for creative works for some reason, they wouldn't ask 10 plumbers to come in and do a days unpaid work and then award the job to the best one. (Of course if the club did pay some artists to put forward their designs for fans to vote on then I take it all back, just that is not often how these things go). | | | |

This isn't Times Square, we don't need bright colours smacking us in the face! Mural 3 is a bit more classy, detailed and unique.

I tend to agree with you, as a creative myself. But plumbing is a bit different to a celebratory mural that the whole town (and visitors) will see.

Are you going to be bringing him up at every opportunity throughout next season as well, or do you think you'll get bored of it at some point? Lots of people depicted in these murals have made mistakes. I don't like what he did with farage but he's also done more good than harm since he came to the club. Holding your anger for this long can't be healthy.

Something along those lines, with a bit more of Ipswich Town thrown in, would have been better than the three things on offer, which are admittedly intended only to be temporary. Why is George Burley missing, too? I know it's supposed to be George Burley, but that is a 4/10 George Burley, and Kieran's picture would struggle to get 6/10. Very clever of the artist to merge John Lyall and Mick McCarthy, though. They obviously have some talent.

Nobody cares mate. He's going nowhere, has rebuilt the club from nothing, appointed a man who has guided us to 3 promotions in 4 years and has re-established the connection between the fans and the club massively. One meal with a knobhead politician does not effect this whatsoever. Bore off and discuss it with another boring goon who loves boring politics.

I get what you're saying but companies definitely ask plumbers and other building contractors to do a load of unpaid work before awarding a contract. That's how tender processes work. And on a smaller scale, I always ask more than one tradesperson to come and give a free quote and draw up some plans for work before i choose to go with them. I think in any industry there's a load of unpaid work that happens in order to gain more work. It's not unique to creatives

Of course he is - He's utterly obsessed (and clearly not the only one). I live for Ashton getting more credit as a) he utterly deserves it b) it upsets the gang on here Lovely stuff

There's only one person continuously blubbing and that's the person who cares more that the CEO of his club who has done a brilliant job had a meeting with a politician they don't like. Its painfully pathetic. As a club and fanbase we need to be united more than ever going into next season, banging on about this trivial nonsense is only going to cause division, the thing you lefties claim to be totally against. Grow up and get over it.

"we need to be united" Followed by "You lefties..." Because there's no better way to unite people than by separating them based on assumed political leanings. Muppet

I can assure you that there's more than one person who is still upset about this, so you're wrong on that. Ashton didn't just have lunch with a politician, he welcomed a racist grifter of a politician to the club, gifted him shirts with Farage 10 on the back, and allowed him to use the club to promote himself and his racist party. He then lied about it, then gave a piss weak apology, taking the fans for mugs. So you're wrong on that as well. Referring to people upset by this as "you lefties" is deliberately divisive, so accusing me of stoking division is a bit rich and shows a staggering lack of self-awareness. The same applies to requesting that I "grow up", you're throwing your toys out of the pram over someone having a difference of opinion. That's toddler level stuff, mate. [Post edited 15 May 13:48]
