I hate that it's now become normal for all the losing supporters to leave immediately or before the end. But I suppose that's the complacency of when you're a club like Chelsea and you're in one of these ever other year. You've reached the cup final. Clap your team off.
Sartorial standards. It used to be a special day and people dressed for it. Now everyone looks sloppy!
New Wembley. That huge corporate hospitality section behind the teams dugouts. Everyone clears off for half time to chow down and don't reappear until 55 minutes.
Emirates air stewards at the bottom of the walk up. Money ruins everything!
Corporate entertainment atmosphere. No home made banners. Club issued flags.
What started in 1999 is finally finished. They've destroyed the competition.

Certainly remember Palace doing Man City last season,that was joyful. It's still there but butchering the format and replays was an abysmal decision led by wealthy clubs with no respect. |  | | |

It was the talk of the week.... there was cup final question of sport , songs on top of the pops, cup final its a knockout and all week presenters would ask their guest who'd win the cup... itv and bbc used to vye for audience share.. cup final pullouts in the papers. It was a huge event, and the country shut down for the game.. everyone watched it, even my Nan! |  | | |

Yep, My nan told me many years ago on tele they used to do some form of FA Cup wrestling too as part of the run up to the game.
I felt bad earlier, asked my Son what prem football was on today and he said none as fa cup day, I was actually annoyed that it was fa cup final stopping other games being on. Never used to feel like that. | |

This is all true.
Thing is if you want to get back to this (which we can’t), then we need to return to having pretty much fck all football live on the box throughout the rest of the season. Because that’s what made cup final day such an event. |  |

Finishing fourth in the PL is much more worthy of a CL place than winning the FA Cup where the winners beat a couple of lower league teams to win it.
Replays simply get in the way.

If we accept that fourth in the league is better than winning the cup, then the cup will never be important. I think in modern football the winners of the FA Cup should be given a Champions' League spot, and prize money should be massively increased too. The FA Cup Final should take place only after all league matches are concluded, returning it to being a showcase event.
Digital screens annoy me too. If we pump too much advertising at people it makes football less attractive to watch. I don't like watching matches at the Ethihad stadium on TV for example, as they have far too many screens (fans were moved out of their seats to install more ads). [Post edited 17 May 9:26]

Don’t get me starter
The managers leading out the teams Pep dressed like his nipping down the local for a pint, the Chelsea manager likes his just come in from mowing the lawn.
No longer the first one from the winning side up the stairs being the captain to first lift the cup.
No spontaneous emotion or joy of the team even that is now organised by an official.
It would never happen but maybe the teams in Europe competition’s do not take part in that seasons FA cup ( pep is always moaning too many games) an Europe competition place for the winners , last game of the season . | | | |

It's lost its place in the football calendar and it isn't getting it back.
It used to be about the only match screened live on TV all season, apart from the odd England game.
Since the growth of the Champions' League plus the huge TV money for remaining in the PL, it's a low priority for most clubs.
None of the tinkering ideas are going to make much difference. Best to ignore it & enjoy it if Town ever get there. Bet we'd still be queuing up for a semi final day out at Wembley if it happened. |  |

Only way to get clubs to take it proper serious is to throw a hugh chunk of Premier League cash at it..... so it will never happen but every finishing PL position winnings contributing £500k would give it an additional £10m to give as winners prize?
