I have not seen loads of him but not hugely impressed in last season or so in odd games watched, but perhaps he concluded the PL isnt for him, whilst £100s of thousands per week has to be a draw :) shame that the PL is losing technical players over power and pace, like being back in the 90s but the player are all a lot fitter! | |

I think this puts transfers in perspective. It's a huge fee, big clubs and yet Newcastle haven't made some enormous profit, not really. Bought for £45 million, sold for £69 million after establishing himself in the England team and having a pretty high level season, champions League goals etc etc. £24 million 'profit' after all of that.
And yet many on here dissect the money side and expect all our deals to be making 10s of millions, or expect to see where a profit or value is coming from, or players costing low 10s of millions to be perfect and instantly ready for whatever we need. Yes we need to do better, but it's not a sure thing for anyone, even the best players at the best clubs with the best seasons. |  | | |

Don't know too much about Gordon but pressing / hard work seems to be a big part of his game. And of course he's quick and good across the front 3 positions.

Don't get this at all, he's extremely average.
Can't imagine Barcelona fans are over the moon at the prospect of seeing some pie faced Scouser who tries hard and runs a lot playing in the position of Deco, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Henry and co.
Sooner this 'pace and directness' era is over and we can go back to having proper footballers the better IMO |  |
