Didn’t want to post this earlier as it was all exposed on Twitter, now it’s been formalised though it brings up a really important point about the commonality of violence and aggression amongst the far right.
SYL, Farage and these lot have all incited it, claimed victimhood and now someone has been killed and another injured because of the behaviour and rhetoric around these people. The constant videos of threats and intimidation tie in with the sexism, racism and belief in their righteousness and now it’s led to this.
Those defending them and claiming they are targeted by the police really need to assess the narratives they push.

When this group first started off, there was quite a lot of pushback saying these were just normal people (the old genuine concerns line). Rather than the group of dodgy characters and crooks arising out of organisations like the EDL, and funded through orgs like Britain First, they so obviously were. So yeah, I hope you’re right and the people who have defended them can now see what they were siding with. This movement was never about being patriotic. |  |

Honestly, I think we do need a more honest discussion about the impacts of immigration, but these turds being treated with anything other than disgust was a huge failing of our country/media/political classes. They were always unpleasant scumbags stirring up unrest, and loads of our politicians went out of their way to legitimise them. |  |

I’m not even sure what the discussion needs to be now, we still aren’t looking at the billionaires, tax dodgers and foreigners trying to buy everything they can to control us.
If people want less immigration there’s going to be some very harsh reforms to the welfare start to fill the job market for a start.
The fact that Reform is full of ex Tories pretending they weren’t the ones who created all these problems and people lap it up is entirely different sphere of analysis. | |

In my view the impacts are both positive and negative. Yes, there may be impacts on local amenities/communities, but there are also the benefits of cheap labour doing undesirable jobs in terms of keeping the country operating and costs low.
That second point is an uncomfortable truth, but it is what it is.

Also the fact that so much money is syphoned off by fewer and fewer. Landlords both big and small are hoarding housing stock which means more money goes to them and not back into the economy, through multiple places. | |
