if he gets relegated here, hes got another 2 seasons
if he gets gets anwhere near the relegation zone this season, hes out of a job
hes not going to enjoy the fan support that he's had here
hes not going to enhoy the management support that hes had here.
theres a lot to be said for staying where you are. and if he stays where he is, theres no downside.

Of course nothing has happened yet, and hopefully it doesn't, but I don't think I'd be able to hide a little disappointment if McKenna left for Fulham.
I understand they're a more established PL club, but when I think about the stadium, training facilities, club infrastructure and support base, it just doesn't feel like the next step I expected him to take. As I've said, nothing has happened, but if KMc were to leave, I'd want it to be a move where I could genuinely be excited for him and proud to see him succeed at the very highest level. Fulham feels more like a sideways move, or only a slight step up rather than the kind of opportunity his work at Ipswich has earned.

McKenna is not universally supported here as he himself has mentioned and as the uppies/downies 2 Dec showed. He will automatically get 100% support at Fulham for now and they’re a patient lot.

That alone makes us an attractive prospect for people wanting to develop their management career of a far better calibre than the likes of Neil Harris who was being touted last time around.
Whatever happens is ok, providing there is some certainty sooner rather than later. I get that it’s a big decision for McKenna, if there’s anything in this, but the club comes first and time is of the essence. |  | | |

We dropped a chunk on a certain forward who loved to wear a glove from a Championship rival.

Church, no he won't get 100%, there's fulham fans not keen on him before he's even taken the job. I know you feel town are one of the worst supported clubs around, but honestly this picture of KM feeling like he doesn't get support at town is imo a bit OTT. sorry i dont believe thats true. for the simple reason it wasnt true 2 years ago and our club is noutourious for giving people a chance. i think fulham however, have had 8 managers in 12 years
also their budget is not that much biigger than ours

It's obviously difficult to compare eras but I would agree with you.
Burley slowly gathered a decent team (presumably because we weren't "loaded" like now) who eventually got promoted. That 5th in the Premier league, even at the time, was so hard. Now it would be pretty much impossible. | | | |

Let's face facts, Ipswich is one of the most benign supports in English football and if a manager seriously gets antsy about a few Suffolk sighs here and there then he would be utterly unsuited to a top 6 job.
