| 1037 on 18:52 - Jul 6 by SuffolkPunchFC | I’d be surprised if it was 10% too, and any estimates will be from looking over several years. 5% may be plausible. There were also people saying they wouldn’t renew due to a political visit a few months ago. Also, not everyone would have people to ‘pass’ them on to. Either family will already have their own, or aren’t interested in Town (or possibly even football). My wife and I certainly have no family who would want Town season tickets. |
With tickets moving to 100% digital it will become more difficult for people to pass them on I think.

Email from Town earlier today assuming you signed up to the season ticket waiting list last October https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/20

My daughter has given hers up this summer. Your point stands.

Was a lot of chatter when the list was mooted that this was some sort of stalking horse (Bluey or Crazee?) to see if the demand would be there if they expanded the stadium. Since then it seems that the plans are being moved on and you would think if they do increase the capacity towards 40k then the entire waiting list (c.6k?) could be cleared - until then I guess we wait and partake in the usual 10am Monday rush [Post edited 7 Jul 10:11]

| 1037 on 17:41 - Jul 6 by Blue_Order | I imagine they’ll start limiting how many games you can miss before they revoke your ST at some point though, as Man Utd and other PL clubs have done, which will make a few more available. |
This is a tricky one. If you mean missing a game without putting your seat on the resale platform, then IMO the threshold should be 0 (maybe 1 to allow for an accident on the way to a match). But putting your seat on the resale platform and missing a match should have a reasonable threshold, bearing in mind matches are frequently moved for TV, often at short notice.

Most clubs who do this seem to have a reasonable threshold (much higher than 1) for not listing games on the resale platform - i.e you're not going to be penalised for forgetting/last minute issues getting to the game unless it's a recurring theme. Agree it's much trickier to have a threshold for just not using your seat (even if you do relist it) - should probably work over multiple seasons rather than a one off and you would hope there would be exception made for things like long term illness where someone might not be able to come much at all for a couple of seasons but might then recover.

Far more likely that the main reason for starting a waiting list is the condition that people must continue to have an active membership in order to remain on the list…

Easy money for the club. Especially as I'd argue that it's all but certain that memberships will cost more than £40 this season.

Yep, and value of those memberships perhaps being limited in respect of away tickets etc (although arguably anyone keen for a season ticket would also be relying on one for individual match home tickets) A nice little earner for sure

Does that make it fair though? (rightly or wrongly) I have seen posters on here - since the Reform fallout - say they are keeping season tickets but will pass it on to others weekly, to keep the ticket in their name for when Mark Ashton leaves the club. With the introduction of the digital ST's this will likely mean they'll call the club for every home game to get a physical ticket so they can distribute it to someone attending in their place (or hand them their phone for the day - which the club couldn't trace, but not ideal for the person not having a phone for the day) The club will have this on file and will surely analyse the data, and see Mr X hasn't been to a single game all season therefore removing it from them?

Jumped on the bandwagon in League 1, enjoyed the first Championship promotion season, didn’t enjoy losing every week in the Prem and that was enough for her to lose interest. She know a bandwagon when she sees it. Considering it a victory that she had one at all, I never thought I’d see it! [Post edited 8 Jul 16:26]

Oh you're right. I certainly isn't fair. I would want serial "sellers" to be at least warned. As someone said, they might have to bring in a limit to the number of games you can sell. Passing to family/friends, I'm not sure how the club can stop that. What you say is probably the limit they can do just it being on one phone, you can't share it so you'd have to have that persons phone for the day, which would be a hassle. This isn't me having a moan, just the system how it is, is set up for people just to keep the STs. However, the club over the past few years have been a bit more proactive in trying to stop "schemes"

Fair enough. As you say, Ipswich won't have too many bandwagons to get on!
| 1037 on 16:36 - Jul 8 with 454 views | LongLegs | I do wish they allocated numbers based on attendance over the past 3 seasons when you could no longer purchase a ST. Just think that would be much more fair than having a random allocation. | | | |
