Hull City are interested in Lorient midfielder Arthur Avom but they face competition for his signature. Avom is a target for the Premier League new boys after an impressive 2025/26 campaign for Ligue 1 Lorient. The highly-rated Cameroon international was one of their key players, helping Lorient finish 10th on their return to France’s top flight. Avom, 21, has a year left on his contract and is valued at between £8.5m and £10m. Hull, though, are not the only ones keen on a deal for Avom. Sky Sports News understands two other Premier League clubs, some of Lorient’s league rivals and sides in Belgium and Turkey are also monitoring Avom's situation.

entry-level Prem players need entry-level Prem clubs to be linked with. Go too high up and the claims would simply be unrealistic.
This season they have the issue that Spurs, altho they only just avoided relegation, are high spenders who are going to be after bigger fish. So it's down to us and Hull, with maybe Forest, Leeds and Everton tacked on. Palace are in Europe, so too exalted.
The odd thing is why Coventry are barely being mentioned (that I've seen).

We have signed 1 player from the French league this summer ? Kipre excluded.

We haven't even been linked to this guy. The OP is just making an educated guess.
Players we have been linked to that seem to be solid. Emersonn, Etta Eyong, Pope, Kjell Scherpen, Aleksandro, Wilson, Anan Khalaili, etc.

Something like 56 players at the world cup born in Paris alone. If we weren't looking in the French league, that would be amateurish

I would be more than happy if all are signings are French league players, seems to be the place to go
