Inevitable really. He'll be 24 in October, and has played most of his football at League One level or below. Vanishingly unlikely he'd get a look in in the Prem.
It's slightly depressing how little football our own products have been getting, even back in league one, but it is what it is, and we have to concentrate on the 'now'. Efforts are clearly being made with the academy, and hopefully they will eventually bear fruit. I think we've probably punched below our weight in term of academy products in the 21st century.
We have much business to do, so best that the relatively easy decisions like this are cleared swiftly.

Equally can't see us letting him go unless pretty confident that one is coming in, even if it's not imminent. I wouldn't want to get to the end of July, and be in a position that we have to start going for plans E or F [Post edited 15 Jul 18:47]

I think the point is that there was no scenario where Baggot would have been part of our squad this season - we would need to sign at least one, if not two, defenders regardless of where Baggot ended up. | |

Not sure about his pace, but he looked decent raw material, so a bit surprised he didn't make more progress here. I had a vague and probably totally unjustified impression that he was a bit too nice out on the pitch, and Millwall might well be able to disabuse him of that! Glad we've got a decent sell on. | |

He was a neat defender for his age, he wasn't quite ready for the Championship when we were promoted although he could have probably played a few more games for us during the L1 promotion season in hindsight.
