Isn’t the best on the ball and can be prone to a clumsy moment, but he’s a man mountain and a great box defender / aerial presence.

Can cover Dara at RCB in a back four, can also play in the middle of a three if we change system.

Feels like a pretty solid pickup at a reasonable price (£8 million ish)

I cannot say I am overly familiar with him, however his size, PL experience, World Cup experience suggests to me this is a decent bit of business (if the price is right, of course).

There is a clear theme with the players we have signed, close to signing and that's presence. Something I felt we missed terrible when we we came up last time.

It's a yes from me.

If, as some think, we're thinking of a back three, then maybe O'Neil is looking at him on the right, O'Shea in the middle and Greaves/Kipre on the left?

West Ham paid £20m when they brought him over from France as a 20 year old; he's not coming here to be a back up defender. IF we are going to be playing with three centre backs though ... perfick.

With respect, if Kipre is playing for us in the PL I'd think something has failed in the transfer window. He's ok, but not anywhere near PL level
