Depends a lot on how they fit into O'Neil's system and thinking. I think Ogbene is good enough but can he stay fit? Does Akpom work better in a different system but it is a big ask for him to step up to the Premier League off the back of a very ordinary season. |  |

Where does Humphreys fit in? In an ideal world he would be playing regularly on loan in the Championship. I think there is a lot of promise there whenever I have seen him play but unless he gets to play week-in week-out at a decent level he isn't going to progress. Would a season in the Premier League reserves do him as much good with chances in the cups? | |

Would agree with all, H.Clarke and J.Clarke to depart, Akpom would certainly be looking to, Kipre the only one there from the list I think will stay on a covering basis.

This is how I am viewing it currently.
Unknown as of yet whether we will be a 3-4-3/5-2-2-1 or a 4-2-3-1, so what we need still feels a little questionable in a couple of areas.
STAY:

QUESTION MARK OVER:

Unsure over Walton rumoured injury and Button contract situation. Button, if contract has been extended and Walton injury serious, to be 3rd choice.
3 FB's [+1 FB/WB]
Seemingly on our radar as we have been linked with one this window
4 CB's [+1 CB]
Unsure of role within squad, depends on formation - could be LCB in a back 3/5 or 3rd/4th choice in a back 4.
3 CM's [+2 new starting CM's if being critical]
Matusiwa will be an important part of the squad, important OOP when on the field, but I have always felt we need a little more from him in possession; he is limited.
4+(1) FW's (+1 Maeda TBA) [+ X?]
Area of the pitch I am unsure of the most due to potential outgoings and what we already have. JP looking likely to leave. I think JC could end up on West Ham's radar with CS outgoing. I feel Mehmeti and Walle Egeli will stay, but not with certainty. Unsure over McAteer/Ogbene as they do fit the profile of a WB (Ogbene staying would not overly shock me given he played a similar role for Luton).
2's ST [+1 needed, maybe +2]
Unsure over Hirst and Akpom. I do not see both staying. 1 will most likely become 3rd choice. Hirst might have strong Championship interest. Akpom would probably suit PL more given his attributes. Maeda can also play as a 9.
Potentially 8 or 9 new signings needed still. A bit more quality to add to the squad too. I really like the Diop signing for a very good fee. |  |
