It's not that he's proven people wrong, it's more that our recruitment in central areas has been rubbish. His inclusion last season was again because cajuste couldn't play football, and in the prem season it didn't help phillips got injured and cajuste was cajuste version 1
IF the recruitment team did their job in the middle of the park, Taylor wouldn't be anywhere near it.
Like the guy, think he's a solid champ midfielder but if we see him play for town this season, we've again fked up the midfield options. |

Squad player in Prem this year and starter in champ next year? Maybe even loaning him out to achieve this?

He’s 28. He will be 30 when his contract is up. Developing players is great and we could as easily bring a highly rated youngster and develop him as a replacement if that’s the desire. |

I think Taylor inproved a lot towards the end of the season. A good solid sqad player. Dont sell him off until there is a replacement lined up.

I’m not a huge fan but he at least offers running and grit all day long. That’s always really valued by managers. Felt like McKenna chased him so long he became a bit of a David Norris for him.
I’d like to think we sell him for a decent fee and he does well in the championship like any of the squad we choose to let go. |  |

No. But at 28 and with 2 years left on his contract his value will never be as high as it is now unless he blitzes the prem. with his value being effectively zero he adds significantly to our PSR figures. Next year he will be 29 and have only a year left on his contract. |  | | |

Valid points I'm sure but you can't make a profit on everyone, and even if his value is as high now as it ever will be, he's still not going to fetch that much is he?
That's no slight, it's just because of the type of player he is, and that type is one I think we'll benefit from having around. From a culture point of view it can't hurt, to still have the likes of Burns, Taylor, Davis and Walton around is a good thing, and he's a good utility player that probably knows he won't be first choice but will give everything and fly into every tackle when he does get on the pitch. | |

I can't see someone paying much for him, as well.
But if he's 4th or 5th choice CM ... he could be handy for a few games or as a hard-working sub for the final 15 mins. If we have space in the squad then I'm not against him staying here. We' can't keep happy top quality CMs who hardly get a game. We might need players like Taylor for cover. |
No brainer to keep him for me and I'm not his biggest fan other than I like his attitude and application. He's a really good club man and useful to have as your midfield unit. Always available and gives 100%.
Given the money doesn't massively help us I can't see him going. | |

one of the most underrated Town players in the last few years ,great box to box ,can tackle ,pass ,shoot and run 4 the whole 90 minutes ,had players like Cajuste who does the odd flick here or there but can't last the whole game .If GON is anything like Kieran he will have the sense to keep hold of Jack Taylor .Been a great signing ,if he is starting in central midfield next season that is fine by me | | | |

But when the club brings in a youngster to develop unless the player is first team ready a large percentage of the fan base shouts the club need to send him out on loan, look at Egeli.
Its a squad game, the club is never going to buy a new squad thats PL ready, we aren't Man City, we need to continue the development of some of the squad. |  | | |
