| What is AAH's Level? 06:09 - Aug 1 with 2386 views | LA_Tractor_Boy | Clearly Ali isn't going to be part of our squad next season, but he's contracted until 2028 so he needs to find a new loan or permanent home. However, I'm not sure whether he's Championship, League One or League Two standard. Injuries have played a part, but I don't think he's improved since we signed him from Wimbledon in L2. I think Stoke thought quite highly of him when on loan in 24/25, but he barely featured for Luton last season due to injury and only scored once in 13 league appearances. A shame as it obviously meant an obligation to buy wasn't triggered. Where do we see his future next season? | | | | |

| What is AAH's Level? on 06:47 - Aug 1 with 2013 views | WolfieAtTheBack | Look away now if you are sensitive.. I am not sure he is a league footballer. The way he runs and looks constantly tired suggests otherwise plus the penalties... Watching him in the kick about the other day in Spain playing right forward was bizarre. In saying this he has a bloody impressive CV with a world cup and two premier league seasons on there so one to tell the grandkids. If he is likely to get a move to any football league club this window then if I was him I would bite their hand off and hope no one finds out he is not very good at football. All the best AAH. | | | |

I don't think he has the ability to be particularly adaptable though, like a Conor Chaplin type, in a team that doesn't play to his strengths, in terms of formation or in countering on the break through the middle v sharp finishes from cut backs af the end line etc.

I'd agree with this. There's a player there for sure. It would not surprise me to see him develop late and maybe in his late twenties be a very effective player. I make you right - if you setup to play to his strengths then I can see him being too good for L1 and a very good Championship player in the mid to long term. His ceiling will depend on him, his approach and attitude to learning and to be fair to him, he works very hard and appears to have the right attitude. In answer to the OP - his future doesn't appear to be here.

He’s very poor. I don’t see what people see in him. He’ll probably get another club easily enough off the back of his CV, but I agree that’s he’s got a similar trajectory to Dobra ahead of him. He’ll keep dropping until something sticks and then maybe he can rebuild.

Being fair to him, and to us, he was bought as a project to develop through our expected 3 or so years in the Championship. Come on for 20 minutes in games, get the odd cup start and spend 3 years coaching him. Hardly his fault (or ours) that we unexpectedly for the club, went straight up and then he had to play in the Prem when he wasn't anywhere near ready for it, the loan at Luton should have been good for him and us, to unload him, as we had progressed faster than we thought we would, which effectively ended the AAH project, but he spent the season injured. If we had the expected years in the Championship, I could see him developing into a starter for a play-off chasing team and be sold at a big profit for us, which would have been good business. Unfortunately, a few things scuppered that.

In the bit of one of the Iraq games I watched, the commentators were being quite complimentary of al-Hamadi's efforts and the threat he carried. Like you, I would be more than surprised to see him leading the line for us in the Prem.

That's ridiculous. Not sensitive at all by the way as if purse he's in his way out. But he performed quite well at the World cup in a poor team and amas a menace as was spoken about by the commentators. He's been really unfortunate and unable to shake an injury that causes him issues. He would comfortably be a decent championship striker. I think he's best off taking a good L1 move again now. He's more than capable of scoring 20 goals at that level. If he can stay injury fit he'll play a fair bit in the champ.

If he moves to, plays and scores goals at Championship level then I will personally buy you a sit down meal with as much beer as you can consume. As i said, i wish him all the best at Aldershot or where ever he ends up (sorry Ali).
