| Coventry fans are unbearable... 14:05 - Aug 3 with 5225 views | ThatMuhrenCross | Honestly, I was kinda rooting for them when they went up with us, but a large proportion of them have this smug arrogance that they're going to absolutely take the Premier League by storm. I saw one of them arguing until he was blue in the face that they will be qualifying for the Europa League this season. He was adamant. The argument they seem to keep re-hashing is that "we've got super Frank Lampard", "get ready for a Doug King masterclass", and "we've been here before, we know what we're up against." It's so, so, so painfully deluded. They brag about what an untouchable side they had as they romped to promotion without a challenger in sight - and yet, their title winning points tally of 95 wouldn't have been enough for them to even finish above us in 2nd the last time we went up. To be fair, I do want both them and Hull to struggle, as in reality, that's only one other team we have to finish above then, but even more so with Coventry now. I can't put up with it much longer!!! | |

| Coventry fans are unbearable... on 14:11 - Aug 3 with 3802 views | burnbudgiesburn | Let's be honest, a fair few Town fans had us pushing for Europe last attempt. So, I don't and never would hold optimism against them, it is exciting but reality will soon bite. They fully deserved to win the league last year, but after our shocking start to the season there was virtually nothing between us for the rest of the season. And we have a much stronger base of players to build on due to our recent season in the PL. | | | |
| Coventry fans are unbearable... on 14:12 - Aug 3 with 3776 views | _CliveBaker_ | To be fair, if a fanbase can't have some optimism for their 1st season at the top level in 25 years or whatever it is then what's the point? Chances are they're in for a bit of a reality check, but they might as well enjoy the moment. | | | |

I think it's very unlikely we finish above any of them, but you never know! Our big hope has to be that Coventry and Hull are useless, and then one or two established teams just have an absolute stinker of a season and we capitalise. We must do better than before though. 35 points is the absolute minimum we need to be looking at if we're to have any hope. Perhaps we can catch Sunderland cold early on (they had lots of players away at the w/c and have been galivanting around the globe in pre-season) and get off to an unexpected, confidence boosting start.

Fulham is a chance, especially without Wilson. No chance with Sunderland though, they'll be comfortably mid table.

There's a good chance Fulham will struggle. Arbeloa this time last year was the Madrid B coach and doing nothing remarkable. I like the striker Garcia they've bought but the other two Madrid players they are looking to sign are pretty much B team players with youth on their side but not what you'd want in a middling / struggling side. Fulham fans seem quite excited with the Madrid connections but these are Madrid Castilla players, not Real Madrid regulars, even the manager was there as a caretaker.

Fulham- new manager, have lost most of their forward line and haven't yet replaces Sunderland- outperformed last year, now having to contend with European fixture congestion Newcastle- Lost four+ starters in a team with little depth already, new manager, recruitment has been woeful for a few windows Palace- Basically see Newcastle

What makes you say that about Sunderland? They seriously overachieved last season, have (so far) not strengthened much and have Europe to stretch them this season. I have them odds on to struggle.

| Coventry fans are unbearable... on 14:31 - Aug 3 with 3320 views | wischip | I am hopeful that one of the teams that qualified for Europe that aren't regulars there gets distracted from the Premier League enough (a bit like we were 25 years ago!). Their game against us won't really tell us much about their coming season against the rest of the league. If we beat them, I wouldn't write them off, in the same way that if they beat us that doesn't say they're going to be 'comfortably mid table'. | | | |
| Coventry fans are unbearable... on 14:43 - Aug 3 with 3123 views | OldFart71 | Unless we get a few more decent signings in pronto we will be more looking at who will go down with us rather than who joins Coventry and Hull so that we survive. No it's not a hissy fit by me but we had a problem gelling last season due to so many coming in with no time to have them playing together. Whilst it came good eventually Town won't have the benefit of playing a lot of average teams in the second half of the season. | | | |

Shouldn't have said that. They'll probably go and beat The Arse in their first game now.
