Undergoing a medical at Leicester apparently. If true, strange he signed a new deal, as surely we aren’t getting much of a fee?

I can see why it makes the most sense on the balance sheet, and for the future, and why I didn't expect him to sign the new deal.

But eye (and heart!) test was why I wanted him to sign a new deal, and why I'd be happier to have seen McAteer go out than Burns to depart - ultimately if one of them needed to be an option for us in the PL next season I'd have had it be Wes every single time.

Gutted, is an understatement - but totally get it and not sure it is right decision even if I can make the case as to why it has happened

Dont think we will see mcateer here either imo

Some really negative reactions to this on Foxes Forum which part surprises me, part doesn't.

IMO, Wes is way above League One and a cracking signing for that level.

Expect they’re just annoyed that 2 years ago we were battling for promotion and then survival (with Leicester finishing above us on both occasions), and since then they’ve sold us 2 RW’s for big fees before then picking up the player they’ve replaced for us on the cheap

Oh well, what a shame

Highlighting crass stupidity since sometime around 2010

This time around there is no sentiment we are building a squad to stay up lessons learnt from last time. We will now get a small fee.
Thanks for all the memories Wes.

There was no sentiment last time either. Most of our high performing players were not given a chance and replaced with crap

Just came home to find my 9yo lad in floods of tears. Wes is his hero. 1st game was the Derby home black out kit game when Wes scored. It was love from then on!!
We had seats near the tunnel last night. It was Wilfs 1st chance to get some signatures. He took his Wes shirt and sharpie. It was the only one he wanted.
This is his 1st town heartbreak.

Give him a ball and a yard of grass

Not quite. We still have Christian Walton.

Good spot. Another hero.

But Burns kind of represented that crossover from the Evans nadir. We watched him outplay us on ifollow with shots of people's back gardens at at Fleetwood and Cooky screaming (I believe he was meant to just be watching at that point tho could be wrong).

And then next moment he was ours and he's terrorising Liverpool at home.

Wasn't he the first Cook signing?

And who else was at Dartford to see his first game?

Farting “fartichoke” Martin.

He’ll walk the league and it will reinforce the myth that he’s some sort of tactical genius, rather than a bang average, very limited manager who looks like he learnt football tactics from the Ladybird Book of Football Tactics.

He’s so one-dimensional. Probably the most one-dimensional I’ve seen in well over 40 years of watching all sorts of teams around the country. Maybe Pullis runs him close, but obviously he was more successful and realised winning games was more important than how you won them. Martin is the complete opposite. The countless games I had to sit through over here with the family have left scars.

First signing of the Gamechanger era. Round about the same time as Ashton was saying the seats were too dirty to do interviews on.

Been a lot of change since!

Nice for him and Chappers if it happens.

Although Martin has also just signed Liam Cullen from Swansea who is also a number 10 (of sorts), so I’m not sure how much game time Chappers will get. Chappers *should*’ start ahead of him, as Cullen isn’t great, but Martin loves his ex-players.
