Surprised there’s no place for Matusiwa in that lineup.
Still think we need more of a creative player in CM and a proven goalscorer up front.
Also questioning if Furlong and Davis are good enough at RB/LB. |
I think many will be in for a shock - I think everyone fit and firing, Matusiwa is on the bench as it stands. Lukic won't have come to trade Fulham's bench for ours and we've spent the best part of £20m on Florentino so you presume the club think he's an upgrade. I have always had my reservations about Matusiwa on the ball if we returned to the PL and wonder if the new manager does too. | | | |

Hugely disingenuous when 7 came last season playing in the top flight of a top 5 European league. His trajectory fits, yes it's absolutely unproven at this level, but he's gone from Brazil top flight to Turkish top flight to French top flight to premier League.
Not saying he'll get 10+ goals by the way, or be absolutely relied on, but I think he's here to give it a crack and is on the right level of career path to have a decent chance. He's not come as some rookie who will play 5 minutes here and there. It'll be him and another battling, plus Maeda and hopefully enciso as extra options. |  | | |

Whilst the OP's set up is too defensive, I have been far more impressed with this summer's dealings than two years ago. Yes, we have gaps to fill, but it exposed our issues in 2024/25. The calls for those who got us up to play were at least partially down to sentimentality, yes, but they were also rooted in the majority of incoming players barely being an upgrade on who we had on our books already. Certainly not to the level required. Compare to this season where we're bringing in more players with top level experience and quality. | |

That's kind of the point, leave it too long and they're snaffled up, you need to get ahead of the pack and risk it, potentially risking millions in the process. | | | |

Delap only had 12 goals in three seasons before he came to us, and none of those were in the top flight. Then he banged in 12 in a single season. Not saying Emerson's going to be the new Delap but it's hardly unthinkable that he could be a 10 goal a season guy, is it? | | | |

I love the fact that we are in a position to have 'under performing' multi million pound players on any level, let alone in the best league in the world. One who hasn't even played for us yet in any real sense and one who still scored 4 and got a couple of assists in 28 games. Definitely underperforming though?! Huh? | | | |
