When will the classic Ashton walk round with coffee cup happen? Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

| Training ground video on 00:02 - Aug 12 with 2213 views | PhilTWTD | It can't be far off. I was among a number of fellow journos/podcasters etc invited to go down there last night for a tour (no photos for obvious reasons). It's very impressive, although there are still a few bits which aren't quite done as yet, but minor stuff in the grand scheme. | | | |

There’s some Intern at Southampton with nothing much to do now. We should have rented him out to stand behind something with his little phone.

walking past the stadium yesterday, id be more concerned about that be ready. the west stand/practice pitch area looks well behind schedule. id also though that they would have the contractors in there working longer , making good of the daylight hours. unless they want acceleration costs. lots to do still...

No, we weren't allowed. We all got a go on the MRI scanner though and the airship parking area is really impressive.

The west stand won’t be fully ready until the Fulham game I have heard from a steward. It will be functional just to gain entry and that’s about it.

I don't understand why it's taken so long tbh. I know asbestos was discovered which delayed construction by 3 weeks, but even allowing for that, the builders had 3 months to basically put a tin shed on the back of the stand and install some turnstiles, kiosks and toilets. Or am I being unfair?

“there are still a few bits which aren't quite done as yet” Sounds good. Another step in the modernisation of the club.

The fact the contractors are not working longer hours tell this engineer that it is going as planned
