Must surely, surely mean that the club are optimistic about getting an upgrade in.

He’s a good player. Better than people give him credit for. Ok, last season wasn’t his best, but he still contributed to us getting over the line and his form was coming back at the end of the season.

He offers something a little different and I’d have been happy for him to stay. However our finest gave him dogs abuse here and in his shoes I’d have been banging the door down for a move at the season’s end.

If he goes to Stoke, he will get proper support from the crowd and I think he’ll do just fine. Robins is a good manager who knows a proper player when he sees one. Should he leave, I wish GH well.

They could be dark horses, there's some decent attacking players in that line up

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Been a member of 3 promotion squads, and had a season of Prem football.

Not sure he developed into the player I hoped he would, but could never fault the effort or commitment - was always disappointed the boo boys got on his back, and he never hid out on the pitch, even when things were not going for him.

Stepping up to score the penalty in that game last season against Brum was a huge moment for us - not losing that first game was critical.

Slightly disappointed for Hirst to be honest. Stoke doesn't feel like a great move. Don't see them challenging.

Thought he might have gone to a Birmingham/Southampton/Sheffield United

To be honest even a L1 Leicester might have been more appealing. Burns, Chaplin and Hirst ride again.

If he stays injury free could easily score 15-20 then he will get that move.

The only Muff in Town.

There is something really special about when you can see an incredibly important goal like that coming. The first goal was equally as important, but it came out of nowhere and no one quite knew what was going on. But the moment Hirst got the better of the Barnsley defender on the halfway line, you knew it was on, and the anticipation had a few seconds to grow before the release of joy.

The moment I think most of us truly believed it was happening.

One of the best everything of supporting ITFC was that first half and those goals.

Seems like only two months ago he was scoring the goal to set us on the way to promotion. Now off to the footballing wasteland of Stoke. Go well, George. Give the scum fans another wave if you get chance .

I fear people underestimate his contribution but he contributed to the difference being made when he came in, in that January. Was brilliant that first promotion season and looked one of the few that had what it takes to be competitive in the PL at times. Was a hard season in a different style for him last season but he still made massive contributions.

Top bloke who fell in love with Suffolk too. Wish him all the best although Stoke doesn’t feel like a great move for him really.

Sad. He would have been a very handy third choice, which you need, but it all hinges on the replacement(s).

There won't have been many Town strikers who worked as hard as GH. Never stopped running and obviously scored some massive goals. Huge part of the last 3 years (it's mental to think that L1 promotion only happened three years ago, feels like five or six).

I think Joe summed it up perfectly the other day - we have a £7m asset in Akpom, who, no disrespect we won’t see much of a return on that investment, certainly not this summer. Or you sell Hirst, who sits on our books for very little and are able to bank a big profit on him, which helps when it comes to financial rules etc.

Harsh, but suspect that’s the clubs thinking on it.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Recency bias is a big thing with him, I think.

Even though he scored 11 last year which is still his best return, there were undoubtably a few rough spells in a team heavily favored for promotion.

That L1 January window really got this journey going at the pace it has!

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

No doubt, its not a straight either / or football decision really. In reality neither Akpom nor Hirst will play a lot of league football for us this season IMO, so really comes down to £ and Akpom isn't one we would be able to move on at a profit like Hirst.

A good servant to the club over the last few years, scored some important goals, helped drive us to three promotions.

I think he would not be ineffective in the Prem, but also probably not good enough to get much game-time. Better to move on and play (especially if he has ambitions for the Scottish national team), than to mostly sit in the stands with the odd cup appearance.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Enciso might've been the domino in this case. I wouldn't be surprised to see him used in the number 9 for us at times as he did for Paraguay. A bit like how GON used Cunha at Wolves.

Still clearly want another 9 but maybe that's just given us enough confidence with Enciso, Emersonn & Akpom all here.

Hasnt given me confidence...not until the CF is through the door.

They do and Robins is a good manager. He’s the reason why Coventry are in the Premier this season.
