Dunno, I think that's a bit unfair. He had a few very good games away from home playing that RWB/RW role. Not good enough defensively as a conventional RB though. Ultimately a player that struggled from being a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none whilst being on big money here. | | | |

Think that's the issue in that a decent player in there somewhere but in what position?
HIs wages are huge so no doubt we'll still be paying a large chunk of it. | |

Agree - think we looked more solid in first prem season with him at RM, and he played well when he came in last season. Thought it strange that he didn't get more minutes last season on the whole, particularly given how much we struggled in that role af times |  |

Looks a lovely bloke but he's very average. Signed to play in the PL on big wages and could barely get into our Champ side. Would have struggled to hold down a starting place in any of the Top 10 last year also I expect.

My main gripe was that in the champ, as a player who had 50+ PL appearances, his speed of thought was generally really poor.
He would very often take a touch, look up, see a pass, not play it, take another touch, then another one…then pass it back 5 yards where it came from…
Really wasn’t a progressive player at all but as others have said, was ok as a workhorse at RW when situation required. Which wasn’t often in the champ. | | | |

There’s a reason that seemingly only Stoke have come in for him.
You’d think somebody of his profile would interest the parachute clubs but he’s just not been anywhere near good enough over last 2 seasons for us.

Doyle? There is no chance we could get him from Wrexham for any kind of reasonable fee.
I am surprised by him leaving - covers a few positions, seems to be a great guy to have around and he's fine. He is not a world beater but he is fine as a backup.
Perhaps after the last couple of seasons he just wants to go and play, which is fair enough. |  |

Interesting take. I have never seen anything to suggest there is a really good player in Johnson. Every West Ham fan I have ever spoken to suggest the same and could not believe the wages we offered to him to join.

Just someone I like. Think he’d be ideal for us, competition for Greaves and can comfortably play left back, think he played there for scum.
