Add in: Two banks of four Hydration break VAR No disrespect (it means you/the team are the dregs of the universe) Simulation (cheating) Transitioning (you mean trotting up the pitch) High press (marking the defender) Second phase (it’s 90 minutes phase, ya dope!) Recycle (I do that with wine and beer bottles - and the odd pickled onion jar) Forced turnover (you mean you tackled the sap) Channel ball (whop it into the corner) Development squad (ressies, stiffs or yoofs?)

He's more of a 6! Quicker in transition. Set piece coach.

Who scores first? Where are they finishing? We used to say: Which team will win? Who will score first? Where will they finish?

We used to turn up and pay cash at the turnstiles. Now we join a scheme, pay in advance and download an App, and it takes longer to get in!

OMG, YES YES YES. In fact a lot of these modern terms, and referring to positions as numbers.

Low block was parking the bus in my day. And don't get me started on an aggressive press. Marketing speak for closing down.

| Football phrase we didnt say 5- 10 years ago on 18:16 - Aug 19 with 1009 views | Hermann_eats_puffin | I don't like 'It's just a coming together' as is now used by lots of commentators when a blatant foul has been committed and it now seems to be used in such scenarios as say when in the home game against Leicester two seasons ago Chaplin was completely cleaned out in the Leicester penalty box and wasn't awarded what should of been a blatant penalty (and yes I'm still bitter about it). I can't remember whether these words were used in this exact passage of play when Chaplin was taken out but I've heard in used in similar such situations. I just hear this phrase used so often now and it really bugs me as it tries to excuse certain players completely taking another one out. | | | |
