Maybe you should go and educate yourself. If you call the majority of Ipswich fans rascists in person see how that ends up for you. It's your opinion it is a racist party....an opinion. Wanting what is best for the country does not make a person racist.

It is not opinion, it is a record of fact.

There have been multiple documented instances of Reform UK candidates, representatives and campaigners making racist or racially offensive comments, including racial slurs, and the party has removed some of those people as a result.

Even Farage has acknowledged that Reform attracts racists.

Hey, just because someone votes for a racist party, doesn’t mean they’re a racist - that’s like, you’re opinion, man.

Yeah, but just because the party is full of racists and has racist policies, it doesn’t mean it’s a racist party and maybe people aren’t racist, they just like to vote for racists and racist policies - did you ever consider *that*?

Absolutely disgraceful post.

Can’t drop it can you 😂😂😂

For what’s it’s worth I’m fully behind not having a racist right wing party anywhere near power in the UK and I completely agree that any association with OUR football club is wrong.

Having said that I feel that the need to constantly recycle the topic with any mention of Ashton very tiresome. I fully appreciate that everyone has a different opinion and you feel strongly enough to need to raise this whenever given the chance.

My frustration is born around trying to be positive about our club, and I come to a place where I hope this exists.

I didn't raise it, and I wasn't commenting on Ashton, as you well know.

I was commenting on your utterly disgraceful post, weaponising online someone's own kids against them in an attempt to smear. And the rest. Which instead of apologising for, you've done a thoroughly cowardly swerve of.

I'm positive about the club. I'm just not keen on Ashton's love in with a far right activist.
Both things can be true at the same time.
Some people don't care for Maxwell's Silver Hammer, but it doesn't make Abbey Road a poor Beatles album. The Beatles are still awesome.
That said, Maxwell didn't invite a right wing grifter to Abbey Road studio for lots of lovely free PR and photos. He just hit people on the head with a silver hammer.
Bang Bang.

You’re a racist, aren’t you…

May I politely ask one, maybe two questions?

1. Are you affiliated to a political party, have very strong views and use this platform as your speakers corner, or enjoy winding people up?

2. Can I be something other than a racist if I don’t agree with your views?

Example: A- Racist Farage supporter
B- Aligned with your views, part of the club.
C- An Ipswich fan with blue tinted glasses on 💙

Where was this 'politeness' last night? I thought you wanted to "keep me quiet" loooool.

What are these 'very strong views' you talk of?
That racism is bad and people who vote for racist parties are morons?

I do enjoy taking the piss out of racists and morons, yeah.

I'm sure there are lot of people who disagree with me on a number of topics who aren't racist, yeah - seems a bit of a daft question, but I'm sure you've got your reasons.

Nothing surprises me on this board anymore, nothing.

Ashton has done a remarkable job and the day he goes the football team will be in a worse position because of it. Yet people on here wish him gone for supporting a party that the majority of Suffolk support. (Most sitting around you on Saturday will support) Yes it was a mistake hosting the leader of said party but that's all it was, a mistake. Yet folk on this site, especially, would rather him leave because of that mistake and as a result see the team/club regress. I pity those in that boat. Firstly because you're incapale of forgiving someone who made a mistake and might see something different to you, and secondly because no doubt you're happy with the absolute state of the country. Strange times.

Where is your evidence that the majority of Suffolk supports reform ? If you are refering to the recent elections, 33% of the vote of those that bothered does not indicate a majority of Suffolk.

Apologies if I over stepped the mark but I am very passionate about our club. I really want the best for it and hearing constant negatives on certain topics really gets to me when there is so much positivity we should be focusing on.

I fully appreciate that Ashton was the one who brought politics into the club but I hope of a day where the past will be the past and we can appreciate all the good that’s been done on so many different levels. (yes I know don’t forget the past otherwise it will be repeated!)

Having said that I respect your passion and the need to not let it go. It’s your opinion and you are passionate about it. I would suggest your strong views don’t need outlining but would like to think you can appreciate there is a difference to someone supporting the club passionately (which includes Ashton) and someone supporting reform.

Spot on assessment.

Anyone defending Ashton on this particular issue, or attempting to downplay it is guilty of supporting Farage’s racist agenda.

It really is that simple.

The downvotes for this statement of fact will re-emphasise just who those individuals are.

The only consolation for those decent people who don’t agree with Farage’s ongoing crusade of blatant racism is that, apart from supporting Ipswich, they have nothing else whatsoever in common with those individuals.

‘Anyone defending Ashton on this particular issue, or attempting to downplay it is guilty of supporting Farage’s racist agenda.’

‘The downvotes for this statement of fact will re-emphasise just who those individuals are.’

So far only x4 have popped their heads out of the pond to indicate that they do support Farage’s racist agenda.

Just one disappointment in that little foursome of shame…..come on Benters, I genuinely believe you’re a bit better than that.

The other three will come as no shock whatsoever….

Sometimes I giggle about the frothing lunatic who’s put me on ignore and now has to constantly log out to see what I’ve said. Beneath that counterfeit persona lurks the same pitifully desperate egomaniac.

Seriously though?

I can’t support the club and all within it without having an asterisk next to Ashton as he is a racist reform supporter?

Is he though? Or did he just take the opportunity to accept an invite from a politician and right royally f**k it up? I think you are closer to the mark but my point still stands!

I’m not a racist, I’m not a right winger, I’m Ipswich through and through!!

You can praise Ashton all you want for what he’s achieved with the club, but his atrocious decision to invite Farage in and indulge the racist will forever be a stain against his name.

He didn’t ‘accept an invite from a politician’ he permitted the grubby little racist snake to use the club to further his racist agenda and then sought to lie about it before eventually being pressured into issuing a pathetic non-apology.

Anyone who defends him on that particular point and disagrees with my point regarding that specific issue is accepting that it was okay for him to cosy up to a proven racist.

I can’t see what’s so difficult to grasp about that.

I'm similar to Libs in that I never had a problem with Aston before the Farage incident.
I never even joined in with the Brent related threads. I thought he was an important cog of what has pulled this club out of the doldrums (and still do to some extent), but for me a line was crossed that I just can't get past. If others are happy to let it go, fair enough, but it doesn't make me or others who no longer respect him any less of a Town fan.

Yeah, me too. I laughed occasionally at his big mug and the David Brent-esque routine, but only poking a bit of fun. I’ve always thought he’s done and is still doing a great job as CEO/Chairman/training ground sketcher-outer/dishwasher…

I don’t like being deceived and lied to though. But that’s pretty much it.

I don’t recognise a world where there were vocal town fans against him from the start. There were a couple on here, darkhorse was relentless negative but that was also against the whole ownership model. Most people were positive about the job he was doing. It seems false to make out there was always a schism between groups of fans. There is now though: that’s what Farage always does.

The majority of Town fans don’t support Farage. Reform are polling at about 25%, and that will only be out of about 50% of adults. It’ll be 12-15% of adult fans at most, so maybe only a 10-12% fringe.

Farage is a racist, they have xenophobic policies at best, and they’re well known for attracting racists. If it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck…

As you’re sat doing the exact same thing? There’s nothing controversial about Reform being racists or relying on people’s racism for support.

Any of you promoting them or siding with them are racist by default, you can dress it up however you want but that’s a fact. Not all racists support Reform, but but all Reform supporters are racist by their actions.

I don’t think that’s fair. It’s a bit of a cult so some may just be in it without realising what they’re standing for, just because Nigel’s ‘standing up for them’ (lol), or ‘sticking it to the establishment’ (lol), or ‘winding up the right people’ (sigh). Undoubtedly they will have a higher proportion of racist followers, but it’s a bit of a leap to assume all are.
