Among those questions, Hirst, Burns moving on, difficult decisions, knowing what they've achieved. No bomb squad here, everyone training together even when there were 30 players at times. Wish them well for the future.

To be fair, we don't know where we signed them specifically to play, I would imagine their versatility and quality in multiple positions was a consideration. For all we know, GON wants to play one of them as the central attacker. They are both formidable attackers, a cut above what we've had before. |  | | |

I’m guessing that what GON says in public could well be different to his thoughts behind the scenes.
If he said that we are working hard into signing a striker most agents will take note and be a lot harder in their negotiations. Whereas if he sounds more nonchalant, those negotiations might well not be as hard or expensive to conclude. |  | | |

We obviously want to recruit a forward. Actions speak louder than words, we've been linked with Embolo and Delap in the last 24 hours and no doubt there will be more. He didn't dismiss that we're looking. He's not going to come out on the eve of a game and show his hand on that as well as implying a lack of confidence in the players he does have. | | | |

It absolutely is and they know it. If he had said 'Yeah, we absolutely need and want a striker and there is only 2 weeks of window left', I imagine prices for ones we enquire about will suddenly start being valued way above what they were. |  |

He wouldn’t need to say it, as everyone will know we’re short. It was just the parallel with previous seasons that stood out to me. It may mean nothing and we may still get a decent striker in of course. Still plenty of time even if sooner would have been better. They must be confident we’re covered either way by letting Hirst go. | |
