Looking at these reports surely they are pure speculation and the player would not want to drop down the leagues?
It very much feels like this is his time to prove himself at this level and proved why he is a solid squad asset Saturday with the excellent winning goal.
Mehmeti on the other hand to Derby, Middlesborough or Birmingham makes a lot of sense and ideally on a perm deal and at a profit.

Never completely convinced by JC until the last 20 minutes against sfc. He was inspirational and totally determined to get back to the prem and now he has scored a trademark goal first game back
He's not going to give up what he's worked so hard for.

The only one factor I can think of is he from York and might want to move closer to home having a young family but outside of this the move makes zero sense and I hope he stays.
In this team he is playing more of a free role, under KM he was trying to do stuff he clearly could not do and gave the ball away too much, he wants to receive the ball not be holding on to it and passing it about.

I can’t see anyway that we loan him out, however if the price was right I could see us selling him although I don’t see any championship teams with that kind of money, so I think he will stay

It's just a report that Middlesbrough would be interested in getting him – and why wouldn't they? Nothing to suggest he is going or will do. Of course from the player's perspective you want to get a quick read on how much you're going to be involved during the season so it's not impossible he's kept the eventuality open. Saturday showed why we should and will keep him around.

A player that has just scored loads in the championship, played in the premier league and scored, we would want offers of 25m +.
Even then I would keep him for this season. He is enjoying his football and playing freely.

It may come down to the club offering JC a choice - be a squad player with us in the PL with opportunity to compete for a starting place, or drop down and (probably) be a star again. If he wants to stay and be patient then good on him.

Would be mad to let him go for me. Proven time and time again that he can influence games and contribute big goals from the bench over the past 12 months.

You think you know what's going on, you have the squad all sussed out, and then suddenly you read Jack Clarke could go on loan and you just think "why on earth?"
If we don't get another attacking midfielder in the window, I can't see why would we could get rid of Clarke or Mehmeti. Clarke for obvious reasons, Mehmeti faded badly last season but he showed he has got something. I would prefer both of them as backup or alternative position to Enciso than Nunez who looked quite comfortable on Saturday in his old Norwich position.
Got to be worth £15-£20 million surely. But is this because Philly is not going anywhere and we need the extra funds ? Personally I'd like to keep Jack. He is better than a few we still have on the books who could do with getting shot of.

My only tiny bit of def info is that Jack's family definitely don't want him to drop down a league, so can't imagine that he would be wanting to go for the sake of a move closer to home

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up going. Wanted to make about £40m in sales this summer and on 16 to date. Our pathway to that looks difficult without a big sale and JP looking unlikely now.
Believe we've got the cash for the MF we want, but for the striker we need the rest of the cash. Or it would need to be a loan.
