What an awful pen.

Poll: How many of yesterdays team will be in the team for the 1st game of next season?

As bad a penalty that you will see - the only one to miss out of the 10!

That was absolutely honking.

Only player to miss his pen, Stoke go out.

He never looked convincing taking them for Town. The stuttering run up is naff.

Yep. I don’t know what’s gone wrong for him. He was class at times for us and I thought he could kick on, but then last year he seemed short on confidence on the pitch. And there’s no way he should have been letting Dykes get in ahead of him in the Scotland team. I don’t know whether it’s a lack of belief or injuries and fitness taking the edge off his game.

Watching that, his strides seem too small meaning he's got no real momentum as he approaches the ball. Always looks unnatural for a penalty.

Poll: If forced to sell one of the following this summer, who would you sell?

Nowhere near. It's a bog standard penalty miss, people are just jumping on the Hirst bandwagon.

Shows that strikers are overpriced. You have to get off to a good start at places like Stoke. Gone are the days when strikers stayed behind to practise penalties.

He would have ended up taking one in sudden death if not pushed to take one in the first five. Hull are great at pens.

The penalty spot is just 12 yards from the goal line. There's just the keeper to beat and all the time in the world.

Good strikers don't regularly miss penalties.

Nothings rivalling that one.

Was a honking penalty though, think Southgate Euro 96 but to the keepers left.

I feel really sorry for him. He's confidence is absolutely shot at the moment. Hopefully he can put this behind him and have a decent run at Stoke. I just don't get why some of our fans are still putting him down, even though he left

Warky hardly ever missed a pen and Paul Cooper saved loads.

Scotland giving a squad place to Hirst over McBurnie was an absolutely honking decision.

I liked George and he did some great things for us but I think he was above his level with us. Stoke is probably about right although a 10million package seems steep. Great business for us.

Never understood why he’d take them for us quite regularly. Last nights was the same as his pen at Brum just the keeper dived the wrong way.

For someone with such attention to detail, McKenna had a poor record with them really, lost every shootout I think.

Jack Clarke never took one against Forest! Taylor missed both his that year.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Not all of them. I seem to remember us beating Reading in a shootout at the Madejski Stadium, 3 years ago.

Shootouts are generally in Cups, and I can't say I'm totally convinced that McKenna gave two hoots about Cups in general. Losing in a shootout was one of the better outcomes that we used to achieve in cup competitions.
