Wrexham will be challenging but have spent a lot by the looks recently but no doubt Birmingham are the better and bigger club size wise

Wrexham have some good players, Mehmeti and Broadhead in the champ would be decent.

Why would you think they'd be challenging, based in their performance last year and current squad I can't see it without some big late signings.

Brum badly underperformed last season, but they still have the potential and weight to give it a better go this time (hence spending that much on a player from a promoted club).

Sign him for 6 months, get promoted and flip him for double what we paid. Not bad business.

Birmingham seem rudderless and drifting since Wagner had his stroke.

I agree. In the current market that’s robbery. He’s worth £10m of anyone’s money. Let’s hope for add ons and a sell on. Still, a profit is a profit and say £3m for half a season plus a good contribution is better than a poke in the eye. [Post edited 28 Aug 14:28]

| 7m for Mehmeti at Birmingham on 13:16 - Aug 28 with 3365 views | burnbudgiesburn | Was a clever pick up at the time due to Brizzle not wanting to lose him for free, started well for us but then tailed off a bit - probably due to Bristol City flogging him every game earlier in the season. He's actually been looking very lively pre-season for us, I wouldn't have been against having him in our 25 squad this season but I understand the sale. £7m-£9m seems a good deal for Birmingham for a 25 year old no.10 with 11 goals last season when you see what Stoke paid for Galbraith | | | |
| 7m for Mehmeti at Birmingham on 13:21 - Aug 28 with 3180 views | C_HealyIsAPleasure | Will happily eat humble pie if that fees true, didn’t see how we could possibly expect to shift him for much more than we bought him for (yes I know his contract was running out but didn’t seem to be a queue of clubs after him and whilst he was ok here it wasn’t like he did anything he wasn’t already doing for Brizzle) Great stuff | |

| 7m for Mehmeti at Birmingham on 13:37 - Aug 28 with 2694 views | Crawfordsboot | His value will have been written down in our books last season so his probable carrying value will be around £2million. A sale at 7 - 9 million would therefore see us recording a profit this year of 5 to 7 million. That strikes me as reasonable business. | | | |

I don't think he suits us at all now. GON is all about the gas on the transition in those forward roles, he's a bit of a throwback who has a nice touch and close control, but don't think he's got the physicality or raw athleticism we want or need. Its a good move for all parties, we profit without really compromising the squad, he gets regular football, and Brum get a tidy Championship player. I wish him well.

Good assessment. Very good player but not quite what we are after this season. Decent fee and hope to see another good fee for Taylor.

I actually think physicality and athleticism is fine. Good attitude too. I’d be happy to keep him in the squad had we not brought in so many players. What concerned me was some of his decision making and as a consequence, losing the ball. You cannot give the ball away cheaply at Premier League level.

Yeah - I would say he is a decent Championship player but not a real top class one and definitely not a PL player. The sort of player that will have a career being a mid-tier Championship club's best player but not really go beyond that.
