EADT have been saying they have "multiple plates spinning" for attackers, but will only pull the trigger on one. Assume we are getting near the ceiling on finances.

He's not but apparently Philogene played on the right for Hull, Villa and England U21s. As long as his injury is not serious, and he doesn't leave, I'm ok with him as back up option.

Or a right back that we trust. If Greaves needs to cover Davis we’re a bit stuffed and can’t carry another injury or suspension across both CBs and LB. Seems like suicide to me.
I assume we’re not looking to reinforce RB because Ouattara is expected to step into that role very soon. If not, the need for defensive reinforcements is even more dire. Otherwise we’re potentially undoing all the good work put into getting players like Enciso and Palacios through the door.

I'd imagine we are right at the top of our budget.
If Flemming comes in on a perm, then I can't imagine that we will be paying any further fees in this window, unless there is a very big outgoing before 5pm. |  |

Yeah we look light there don’t we with Johnson gone - must admit I was surprised we didn’t keep him for his versatility (and he looked alright in the PL imo). Maybe he wanted more game time which is fair enough.

We could do with a modern day Mick mills - able to play either fullback position, and midfield when necessary. He was absolutely superb at at filling in wherever necessary with no drop off in terms of quality.
With GON knowing Ouatarra I suspect he sees him doing a similar job. If he proves to be half as good as MM I'll be a very happy man! |  |

It’s not a league where we want to be patching up with makeshift defenders is it. You need everyone on their game and in their preferred positions, as most are going to be outclassed individually by a lot of attacks in this division.
We’ll see what happens, but if it ends up with only Fleming in and Akpom out today that’s going to leave us worrying about defensive injuries or drop in form all the way through to January.
Ouattara is the big unknown. He’s young but GON will know what he’s capable of. He’s got the physical attributes we need and could really shine in either fb position. But we just don’t know if he can step up to PL levels.
