They’ve had 3 but chances at the Ethiad. City will actually be fairly lucky to get away with this if it holds.

Yes, I think they'll probably finish bottom but this is the only way to play at the Etihad.

Until the 75th minute they had 16% possession but at least they are still in it. In hindsight (maybe not just hindsight) when we went 1-0 up at United we should have left ourselves far less open.

Disagree they are only 1 goal up.

Liverpool weren’t out of first gear as they had a cushion, Cov have had had 10 shots and 3 big chances, plus over a goal on the XG.

Decent amount of touches in City’s box for an away side tbh they have played very well.

Had more corners than City.

They should have equalized in this 20 min second half spell for sure.

But still haven't scored a goal in 3 games. If that was Town the bedwetters would be calling for the scouting team to be sacked.

That’s true but you’d be very encouraged if you were a Cov fan watching that second half today, we are going to need to be more solid against the top sides.

Why can they be encouraged yet our season is doomed?

We are 13th after 3 games. Scored 4 goals

Id take that

Theyre bottom and havent scored a goal yet.

I’m not watching but after 3 games and a return of no points and no goals (even after playing what on paper was their easiest game of the season at home to the play off winners), I don’t think they’re the blueprint.

As a Town fan. I'm encouraged by the 3 pts on the board.

Liverpool weren't out of first gear ....

Their second goal was absolutely stunning football and they defended brilliantly all night.

This first gear, second gear nonsense has to stop.

Every one of these top teams are full of relentless attacking players who want to score goals and brilliant defenders who want to concede none. They want to win 5-0 every week.

Liv and City don't just stop playing when they go 1-0, 2-0 up.

Cov played well, City played badly and still won. Reminds me of two years ago. Play well and still lose.

So am I, we have had the better start, losing to Hull at home is a disaster.

It’s just pertinent after us conceding 5 at Old Trafford.

Liverpool at home is a more winnable game than going to Man City away, obviously.

I’m more comparing it to us last week to be honest.

Yes, I posted that about GONs team last week and we are going to have to win those kind of games as his sides have often conceded a fair few goals.

Totally agree with you regarding the first and second gear comment. Also the whole “they could’ve stepped up at any time” is also redundant. They are a professional football team playing in a competitive league - if they could’ve scored at any time then they would’ve.

Are you able to enlighten us as to why their formation will be so much more successful (and perhaps as to why it has currently been so much less successful)?
