It’s about language and semantics. Without a doubt Fernandez influences the decisions made by keeper and defender but doesn’t impact them.
The law states impact and I think it is clearly a goal that should stand had it been given onfield, however what surprised me is the VAR chose to overrule the offside decision which was given especially considering we are being told that VAR is low touch, especially as it was against Man Utd at Old Trafford.
Obviously it will rumble on, but what should be the focus is what a brilliant display by City with 10 men, at Old Trafford, nearly tactically perfect from the point Foden was dismissed. |  | | |
