Flemming

Seriously i was reallt chuffed when we signed him. So chuffed. But i dont see his quality. I asked last week what i should be looking out for and today i kept looking for it but he just didnt seem to get involved. Lost headers. Outbattled. And many times balls played to him but he didnt move for it.

Is there more to come or maybe simply doesnt suit us ( which can happen )

Argh Frimmers man. I appreciate your title of the post but you don’t help yourself.

Zian has 2 goals in the PL so far including a massive late winner at Palace to give us 3 very important points. He’s been great off the bench for us, put himself about and isn’t afraid to battle. Hasn’t even started a game yet.

Granted it didn’t come off for him tonight but did it come off for anyone? He was up against three massive, good centre halves.

No need to force a scapegoat which unfortunately the Town fan base has a habit of doing.

He’s not played much yet.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

You seem to have it in for him.

None of our forward players got involved today. To single out a player who came off the bench today in that game is odd. He's barely played for us yet.

Last week it was Florentino Luís you singled out.

I did not think that the service we gave both our forwards today was that great, but a lot of that was due Forest defending and not our attacking play.

We are only 8 games into the season. Players settle at different rates and he and others are playing in a new team. He is never going to be Izak or Haarland but he scored at a rate of 1 in 2/3 for Burnley at this level.

I have seen enough of him since Millwall days and here to believe he will be an asset for us. Give him time.

Im not forcing a scapegoat. Im not blaming him for anything nor saying he was any worse than others. Im just puzzled at the moment about what sort of striker he is in our set up. Is he more suited when hes in the box or if we can find him in the channels etc

Probably not his best game, but the second half wasn't he best game for most of the team.

I've seen enough of him in real time at Everton and Man City, and on the TV against Palace and Fulham, to say that he makes a big contribution in the latter stages of games and is very close to starting.

Antisemites, Jew haters and crashing bores will be put on ignore.

He is currently being used as a bit of a battering ram, which can be ideal when either chasing a game or looking to protect a lead.

I would imagine he will start fairly soon which will give us a better idea, but I am sure that he will be used as a pressing striker, someone who will put themselves about, get into the channels and bring others into play - while also occasionally picking up the ball from the CM's and dragging us up the field in a Delap way.

No when i watch emmerson hes linking play. Playing some nice 1 2s with julio. Gets in the battle and wins some loose balls. Think he almost got an assist today too.

He came on for very little time and had even less service than Emersonn. There was nothing between what those two and Akpom offered us tonight but none of that was down to any of them playing poorly.

I guess they could have dropped deeper to get the ball and get involved but then Forest's defence would have been under even less pressure and from O'Neil's interview post-match it clearly wasn't the manager's instruction.

O'Neil explained why. He needed to stop losing the ball in midfield and decided to play the long game. He thought a more physical presence would be a better choice up front. Wouldn't blame Zian for how it panned out. Think you're being a bit harsh to be honest.

Why were you chuffed then? You were chuffed having never seen him play before?

You are so unbelievably reactionary mate. Have you not watched him in other games? Against Arsenal a much superior team his hold up play was really good.

He was Burnley's best player last season. Thought he worked hard tonight chasing down and was quite mobile. He had next to nothing to work with. Wasn't outbattled at all. Put himself about.

He's not a silky player. He's very good at holding up the ball, is strong and scores goals. Is he going to make something from nothing himself from scraps not really if we got a quality delivery in at the death, is he the sort of guy to put it away. Absolutely .

Emmersonn was invisible in the first half. Had only two more touches than Flemming and won the same number of duels despite playing more of the game. That's not a dig at Emersonn, as all the forwards had a tough game. You're being ridiculously harsh.

It would help Flemming if the ball was anywhere near him so he could challenge for it. Every time we played it long it was miles away from him. Actually, when he was able to make his presence felt there were some nice touches.

I was chuffed based on his figures for a prem side last season when we in need of a striker.
