Indeed. The reason being that this is a competition they are potential winners (probably were favourites). We aren't bothered when we get knocked out because the chances of us reaching Wembley in it are remote.
I would like to think it becomes a competition we care about a lot more over the next few seasons as we build a squad capable of competing to the end of it. |  |

It really didn't feel that one-sided in terms of shots at all from what I saw of it. Many of those shots must have been wayward, speculative or like Gyokeres' mishit trickler through to the keeper. He did make at least one very good save that I can recall and the defence stood resolute.
The big difference for them was their organised defence (low block etc) and the physicality they brought. Dowman went from wonder-kid against us to an easily wound-up frustrated star. It will be interesting to see if he learns from it in the fashion of Beckham or if he fades away as oppositions learn how to play him. | |
