Got a long flight coming up. I don't sleep so well on aircraft these days, I should probably start drinking again to cure that...

Anyone got any good book recommendations?

I rather enjoy the Jack Reacher books, I read I am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes and thought that was superb.

Anything along those lines would be great!

Thanks

Conclave by Robert Harris is a good page turner for along flight, as is Crisis by Frank Gardner.

If you're reading on a Kindle, then for £1.99 you can't go wrong with Wool by Hugh Howie. I recently finished it after having it sat in my to read pile for ages but really glad I did get round to reading it.

It's hard to explain the premise without giving things away.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Don't really do fiction, but any of the Antonia Fraser biographies are well written and accessible.

Karamazov

Steve, you probably have no soul. :-(

Dickens - "A Tale of Two Cities" is another recommendation for anyone who wants to go down the classics route. It's more than just a wordy, out of date, guide to two cities with an unwanted political edge.

Non-fiction choices
'Greenpeace Captain: Bizarre Wanderings on the Rainbow Warrior' by Peter Willcox on the way back from China recently. A superb read.

If you haven't read 'And the Sun Shines Now' by Adrian Tempany, it's also well worth your time.

Fatherland, by Robert Harris. It is a crime story set in Hitler's Germany. In the 1960s. Awesome take of "what if...".

Far superior to the recently-televised SS-GB
