Man City 22:42 - Oct 14 with 6656 views | Bent_double | Just seen they beat Stoke 7-2 today. Destroying teams week after week. Surely won't be long before they hit 10 in a game. Mind you, conceeding 7 in the PL in 2017 is proably worse than conceeding 9 twenty-odd years ago.

They didn't seem to let-up today though, scored with just about every attack. It's possible they could hit 10 or more against a really bad defence. Like I said though, any team conceeding 6 or 7 goals now with the money spend on quality players, coaches and facilities is surely worse than when we conceeded 9 all those years ago. Of course the record books won't ever show that.

Exactly. Man City are everything that is wrong with football nowadays.

I fear if we get back up there, it could be us who goes for 10 It feels likes such an uphill struggle getting there, let alone going up and staying up

I wouldn't worry about that if I were you, there is absolutely zero chance of this team getting promotion.

Man City on 06:42 - Oct 15 with 5940 views | christiand | Can you imagine us in the Premier League now? Dear me, it is a scary thought. If City can score 7 against an established PL side like Stoke City, we'd be in serious trouble against some of the big spenders. Double figures could be a real possibility especially with ME's usual approach on transfers of token offerings and bargain basement buys. Derby County's record points total would be in serious trouble.

The top flight record win is 12-0, even we've been done 10-1, so we don't hold any record, apart from in the eyes of SKY… If we have the record defeat, it means we never won the league.

Quite. It was the 'Big 5' who pushed for the unequal distribution of gate receipts and formation of the Premier League in order to keep a bigger wedge for themselves. Can hardly blame Man City for wanting to take them on at their own game.

Be fair, we'll probably pick the Under 18s ourselves to ensure the first team are fit enough to lose against Leeds the week after.

Genuinely thought this would happen yesterday but as someone has pointed out teams do back off and change intensity. The game is a world apart tactically from 10 years ago let alone 25.

Kevin De Bruyne is the best player in the Premier League by a distance.

That's not really the point though - even if it is correct! It's the fact that they (MoTD or whoever) usually dig out the list of worst ever results whenever a team scores 6, 7, 8 goals, and everyone has a little laugh at that result, because like you say, their memories don't go beyond 1992! I guess it will either take a 10-0 result or another re-branding of the PL, so the new cut-off point becomes the date the 'new' league starts, and no-one ever needs to refer to 1992 again, in the same way most don't refer to pre-1992 now.
