The final is very strange. Two London clubs in a city with one of the best stadiums in the world are going to travel thousands of miles to play in a game which kicks off at 11pm local time.
Madness. Why not have a rule where the final takes place in the home country if two teams from the same country get there? Baku could host the next final between teams of different nations. |  |

The same argument came up when Chelsea played Man Utd in the final in Moscow. They tried to change that to England but with no luck. It is frustrating but you can imagine all the hype they’ve built in Baku, and all the preparation that has gone in - it’s probably not as easy as just moving it to Wembley.

Read an interesting piece in Telegraph this week about how Juve and Barca are pushing for this redevelopment of CL, which basically means the top teams always stay in it.
Crux is that they have squeezed everything out of their domestic leagues and now are running in a way that if they fail to make CL is totally unsustainable so they need to guarantee revenue to keep up with English sides.
Barca haven't regenerated their team - still have Messi, Suarez, Busquets, Vidal, Pique as over 30s and tried to by Coutinho and Dembele who are flopping, lost Neymar - so are now trying to do something to solidify their position off the pitch |  |

Not sure about that.
The argument was being made about ten years ago after a few years of the then big 4 of Manu, arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea regularly rocking up in the big four.
The decade since has been completely dominated by Spain, with Bayer and juve I'd imagine faring as well as any of "our" teams.
We might get a few years of it again but these things tend to be cyclical.
There's also been domestic looking finals of Spanish, German and Italian clubs in the past. |  |

Alexander-Arnold, Henderson, Milner, Gomez, Sturridge, Dele, Rose, Trippier with Brewster, Dier and more on the bench - Kane and Winks injured who would be in there. | |
